Jul. 29th, 2003 01:01 pmDang, I'm tired. I feel like taking another week of vacation. Owel, when I went to return Shiri to Oxford, thought, why not rent His and Her Circumstances #4. Very interesting how things have progressed. Though I am disappointed in the number of eps where they spend 5 minutes re-telling the whole damn story. That's 5 minutes they could have spent on new stuff. Ep. 19 was quite strange the way it was done, but pretty clever use of techniques, I thought. I'm intrigued how this new story arc will turn out. I was thinking they'd show more on Tsubasa and her stepbrother, it seemed like they were going for a b plot there, but that never panned out. They seem to have relegated her to being the other girls' backpacks. And I do mean that literally. Its like, I know she looks like a little kid, but she's in high school! Its like they regressed her back to a seven year old. Anyways, I guess the next DVD will be the last, because I heard the only did 26 eps. But the comic goes longer/is still going on, I hear.
Anyways, saw Minority Report last night as well. It was okay, I do have some reservations about it. Like, they said the precogs only catch murder because its the most horrible crime. That kinda downplays rape I think. And do they only catch people who would've committed murder one/two and not manslaughter? I mean, if a guy gets drunk and kills some family in a minivan, that won't get picked up? Or the corrupt building contractor that does a shody job and an accident occurs that kills dozens? That's still killing, its just due to irresponsibility rather than malicious intent. So its far from perfect. But at least I know what the movie is about now.
