Black Lightning- Heh, not so unfindable! So yes, Gambi hid the Pierces in a "blind spot", but that proves problematic because that is how the ASA finds them. All, "that's weird, we can't see in this spot!" thus highlighting it as the probable location of Gambi and the Pierces. And wow, they really were going full on powerful white racist villain with Proctor. Could he be anymore stereotypical? Like he was even spouting a certain president's catchphrases.
Also, its weird how in the know Gambi is. Not weird suspicious, more weird clunky, as they use him answering Jennifer's questions as an exposition dump all, "Oh, this is how these characters work!" Tobias takes a serum that slows his aging and increases his strength. Syonide has carbon fiber armor implanted under her skin. And Khalil's spinal implants somehow make him generate a neuro-toxin that he's able to weaponize using his wrist dart guns. (OMG, I didn't realize his last name was Payne! I thought it was random that he got the codename Painkiller, but now I see its a pun!)
But yeah, I can believe Gambi knowing Tobias and Syonide's deal. But Khalil just showed up walking for less than a day, how the hell would Gambi know all about his tech. Anyways, he frames it to Jennifer in a way that sets up people like the Pierces and the greenlight subjects as natural, while Tobias and his crew are artificial.
Speaking of Khalil though, his darts really did a number on Black Lightning. When Jefferson finally wakes up, he doesn't have his powers. The ASA attack soon afterwards and Gambi says he'll hold them off while Anissa uses her powers to bust through the line and help her family escape. Anissa wants to fight, but Gambi warns her they'll have weapons that work against her.
To give his wife and daughters a better chance of escaping, Jeff asks Gambi if he can make the suit light up as if he has his powers, and go out there anyways. He may be powerless, but the suit is at least bulletproof. Anyways, his suggestion of self sacrifice causes Jen to flair up and she manages to jumpstart her dad's powers.
So with him powered up again, I guess he and Anissa decide to just fight it out and everyone would stick together (since Lynn and Jen didn't end up going for the escape tunnel) Everyone gets a piece of the action. Black Lightning and Thunder do their thing. Some troops make it to the cabin, but Lynn and Gambi fake them out with the whole Gambi pretending to be a corpse so when Lynn shotguns the first few, Gambi takes out the others who are ignoring him as they try to take her on. And Jen even gets to fry a few they missed.
Anyways, since its a big battle, that does draw in everybody- both Tobias and Henderson hear about it. And while Henderson gets the cops to mount up, Tobias actually heads somewhere else. He, Syonide and Khalil attack the ASA HQ and steal a briefcase.
Anyways, with the police heading to the cabin in full force, the ASA withdraws. But Gambi and the Pierces make it to Proctor before he can escape with the pods. He spouts off some more racist comments, getting a few shocks from Jen for being an asshole. But then he makes the mistake of being all, "You may have won this time, but I'll use my resources to hunt you all down!" So Gambi straight up executes him.
Which is weird coming off the previous Flash ep where Barry is all, "we don't kill!", because Jefferson doesn't really do anything more than cock an eyebrow. Like you'd think he'd be upset Gambi shot the guy in cold blood in front of his daughters.
But yeah, with the pods in their possession, they expose the ASA experiments and they're back to being a happy family. However, Syonide gets the thumbs off Proctor's corpse from the coroner's office, which he uses to open the briefcase. We don't see what's in there, but given the green glow emanating from within, its prolly greenlight or whatever greenlight is based off of.
Oh, and Lala is possible dead? He tries to attack Tobias earlier in the ep, but as we find out, Tobias is the one who resurrected him, and put in a failsafe to make Lala do whatever he wants. And so he lets Lala get captured by the ASA with detcord in his stomach. So Lala's forced to try and blow himself and Proctor up, but Protcor's men hold the guy down and he just walks out of there.
But what the hell, his two men holding Lala down just stay there? I guess maybe they were trying to stop him from blowing up and failed? And does that mean Lala's dead? Or does his new immortality allow him to even recover from that?
