TV commentary:

The Magicians- Oh, yeah, that was a great idea! But they freaking did it, Julia transferred her power to Alice, which as expected was a monumentally stupid thing to do. Seriously, I get Julia really doesn't like where it came from. (Though I still think that's more on her viewing things a certain way) But really, the gods gift this to her, throw around the word "chosen", and she thinks, "Sure, I'll just give this away!"

But yeah, so Penny is thinking of leaving, because he's kinda just stuck, unable to do anything, stressing out as his... acquaintances do monumentally stupid and dangerous things, with him sometimes barely able to warn them in time. So one of the things Alice suggests is, "How about if I make you a new body?" And in the middle of working on it, she starts having some epileptic fit, which Penny ends up controlling one of them singing bass fish things to try and warn someone, but the ep ends before we see if he can get someones attention to help her. (spoiler from the previews, he does)

In Fillory, Q goes on a quest by himself (since Eliot and Margo are dealing with fairy crap). Well, not by himself, Benedict and some randos are with him on the boat. They find a Brakebills student, Poppy (played by Felicia Day) who conveniently already has the key. Too bad it seems to have a curse that manifests all your darkest fears and impulses that tries to drive you to suicide which afflicts the latest person to touch it.

So she passes it on to Quentin. He's pissed, and she's all, whatever, just pass it to someone else, and pass it around. He doesn't want to do that, because, yeah, some of those people might kill themselves, much like the fellow students she came to Fillory with. And so he has Benedict tie him up like Odysseus trying to avoid the sirens' call. Too bad while talking to Poppy, he mentions how the key can fit into the random keyholes scattered throughout the lands to open portals here and there.

And she's all, "They can do that!?" and pick pockets him, and since he's tied up, and told Benedict to not let him loose under any circumstances, he can't go after her. Thankfully, he tells Benedict, he doesn't have to release him, just to stop Poppy from getting away. And so Benedict and Poppy fight, and cut to Benedict returning to Q all apologetic. And at first you think he failed, but nope, he did get the key, and unfortunately, it immediately drives him to suicide by jumping into the water where the dragon is lurking.

It eats him, and Quentin is really angry at Poppy, but she says Dragons have portals in their stomach or something, so maybe they can still get the key.

Back at the castle, Floating Mountain Queen locks Margo in with her son, because she needs the marriage to be consummated. Luckily, Eliot helps her out, having got a note from Prince Es, who says he saw the fairies doing something suspicious somewhere. And so he convinces the fairy queen that you can't force Margo to screw a kid, but maybe if they could go on a Honeymoon, that might loosen her up.

So he uses that as an excuse to investigate the place Es told them about (drugging the kid along the way), and they figure out not only are the Fairies trying to terraform the land with mushrooms to make it more hospitable to them, they're growing fairy babies in the ground. So Margo totally plucks them out to use as hostages.

And heh, she has the kid's wiener bitten by a fanged toad, and when he wakes up, she tells them they totally did it. She had told him earlier that vaginas have teeth. So ha, she's dissuading him from sex by making him think sex involves her pussy biting his penis. That should hold him off for a while.
