TV commentary:

Discovery- mnsv('What a twist!') So I had seen some people suspect Lorca was actually from the mirror universe this whole time, and they were proven right. I mean, its an interesting twist, but coming off the Ash reveal from last week its a bit much.

And I dunno, it seems to invalidate the whole "different, darker" image the show was going for a little? Like with Lorca, it seemed like, "Okay, in this Star Trek, not everyone is all goody goody like the captains of old!" But then it turns out he's kinda a shady dick because he's from the mirror universe!

Also, it makes his whole relationship with Michael ultra creepy! Like in the mirror universe, he groomed that version of Michael. So that means when he sought this version of her out, he had ulterior motives and desires.

But yeah, so you have that whole plot thread, meanwhile, back on the ship, you have the whole Voq/Ash thing. Its weird that they act like they could somehow get Ash back. I mean, as far as I can tell, their Ash is dead- they never met the real Ash. The Tyler they've been interacting with is Voq wearing Ash's body. I mean, the alternative is that its Tyler with a "Voq" personality branded on top of him, but in that version, that means Voq would've been killed, and that wouldn't make any sense for the Klingons to do that.

In any case, its kinda hilarious that the Klingons come up with this sleeper agent, and happen to put him on the one ship where the captain is from another universe and is playing a long con to get back to it!
