Jun. 30th, 2003 03:26 pmHoly crap, its a torrential downpout out there! I want to go home. The work day went by surprisingly fast, most likely because I was busy.
They let me have another machine so now I have something to use as a client. But, the one rack was full, and there was a space open on the other rack, I just had to move the switch. In theory, it shoulda taken no more than an hour. But first, I had to scrounge for mounting brackets. Then, after finally mounting the switch, I rewired everything (all neat like too, we all know how obsessive/compulsive I am about these things), and found out three of the cables were too short. And they were crossover cables, which we didn't have any that were long enough. So they showed me how to make me own. Of course, I make my first one, put it in the tester and it didn't work. After much cursing and figuring out what the hell I was doing wrong, I managed to make three 18 foot cables and finish wiring eveything back up. Then, I had to finish up the few tickets that showed up while I was working on this stuff. I also installed solaris 9 on my new machine, which I can't seem to connect to right now after plugging it into the network. Dammit. Owel, its time to go home, so I'll figure it out tomorrow.
And Uncle C just had another daughter?! I didn't even know his wife was preggers! Did he say he named her after you,
isabel79? Oh, and the middle name is Anne, so did he like take your first name and
7500centfish's middle name, or is it all just a weird coincednce?
