OUAT- Pretty tricky, show. So the Hook on this show is not Emma's Hook. He's the Hook from the wish-verse. So we find out before Henry left on his adventure, Hook gave him a magic bottle that Henry could use to contact anyone. So when Lady Tremaine shows up with Royal Guards demanding to know where Cinderella is, he uses the bottle to call his moms and Hook for help before he's captured.
Only, the message went to both Hook and alt-Hook. Who tries to use the opportunity to replace the real Hook to change his lot. Long story short, he feels guilty once he finds out Emma is preggers, since he can't separate Hook from his unborn child. Because he's also missing a daughter, and was hoping somehow by getting with Emma, that somehow that True Love magic would help him find her.
So he turns over a new leaf, and before Emma and Hook leave, Emma is all, "Well, Henry's looking for Cinderella, other Hook is looking for his daughter, why don't you team up and help each other out?" And so they do. Also, since Regina doesn't have anything going on in Storybrooke, and she misses Henry, he's all, why don't you come with me on some adventures instead of you hoping I come back home? Which explains why Hook and Regina are in this new place.
Also, turns out Gold/Weaver isn't as crooked as we think. He picked Hook/Rogers as his partner because he saw a spark of morality in him. Victoria tries to get Weaver to frame Henry for theft to get rid of him, which he tasked to Rogers, who couldn't go through with it. So later, Rogers thinks he failed Weaver's test, but he really passed.
Needless to say, Victoria is pissed and tries to take Weaver to task. But he tells her in no uncertain terms that he doesn't work for her, he never did. Its just that their goals aligned for a while, and now they don't. Like I wonder if she realizes Henry is his grandson, thus he prolly wouldn't do anything to him. Although if he realizes Henry is his grandson, does he have his memories? And is Alice this Hook's daughter?
In the end, Rogers, Henry and Roni decide to team up to try and take down Victoria.
