TV commentary:
Gotham- Playing the long game. So I guess Sofia is acting all innocent and "I just want to be back in Gotham after my father kept me away!" and worming her way into Penguin's confidence.
And really? Penguin let Nygma go because he's soft in the head now. So he's all, "I want you to live knowing you lost and you're not the man you used to be!" I'm sure that won't backfire for him!
But yeah, Bruce has the knife analyzes, which causes Ra's to kill the guy he sent it to. And eventually the guy's grandson, whom Ra's held at knife point demanding the knife. Bruce refuses, to which Ra's congratulates him for his strength of will... and cuts the kid's throat. Needless to say, Bruce is devastated by this development.
The Orville- Pretty dark ending, but it makes sense it would play out like that. Mercer and Molloy come up with a plan to fry all the Krill on the Krill destroyer, but want to keep the kids (and the Krill chick they befriended) safe.
Of course, my immediate thought was, sure those kids live, but wouldn't they be pissed that the Captain fried their parents and loved ones? So glad to see how that's how it played out. The Krill lady is all, "You just guaranteed those kids will be anti-Union zealots by horrifically killing everyone else on the ship they were on!"
That is quite the victory for the captain though. Stopping an attack on a colony, AND capturing an intact Krill destroyer.
