TV commentary:
Suits- Oh, boo hoo! So we find out what Alex's deal was- so way back when Harvey was being a total brat and thinking Jessica didn't have his back and considered jumping ship to Alex's firm. He convinced Alex to sell making the two of them partners to his bosses rather than picking up some other outside hotshot. He did, but his boss was all, this goes south, and you'll regret it.
And we already know Harvey didn't leave, so Alex was persona non grata at his firm. Until the whole construction/jail shady deal thing. He helped push it through- the prisoners were only supposed to be a supplementary work force for the construction company, but Alex figured out they were the whole work force, which is illegal. He brought it up to his boss, and came to find out his boss knew, and did some stuff to make it look like Alex was complicit. And as we saw, to stop his old boss from going after PSL for him jumping ship, he signed a letter taking full responsibility.
Seeing Mike isn't going to quit pursuing the case, Alex and Harvey try to dissuade Mike- Harvey because he feels guilty for getting Alex into this mess, and Alex because he doesn't want to go to jail given it was a big frame up. And it sucks for him, and Harvey should feel incredibly guilty for fucking Alex over!
But that's not good enough for Mike to drop the case! Alex is all, "You'll leave my daughter without a father and my wife without a husband!" What about the dozens of inmates being wrongfully imprisoned so that company can make money off them. Now, Alex just got here, so he doesn't really know the others. But Harvey knows Mike, that he would never drop something like this. Nor should he. Instead of trying to get Mike to drop things to relieve his guilt, he should be putting the same kinda effort he did to help Mike out of his situation into finding a way to stop these guys and save Alex instead of just lying down!
