TV commentary:
Orphan Black- Damn, I had a feeling that was gonna happen. So Felix is back and he's doing an art show. Despite Sarah's suspicions that Delphine and Mrs S have something going on so she doesn't want to be off at, she's convinced to reluctantly attend. I mean, its what a good sister would do. She and Alison and Cosima all get a turn being paraded around under the guise of "Sarah" playing roles of various goddesses, and its a good time.
Meanwhile, Mrs S works with Rachel to take down Neolution and betray Ferdinand in the process. He thinks he's going to the board with blackmail material to get him and Rachel a big pay day. It turns out he has nothing, and thus looks like an idiot in front of the board, whom he just attempted to strongarm. They try to kill him, but he escapes.
He tries to kill Rachel, but can't do it. So he goes after Mrs S, who has the info (which she has already released publicly) They have a confrontation at the house, and Ferdinand shoots Siobahn in the heart with a gun he had hidden. Of course, since he didn't kill her instantly, she shoots him in the neck with her own hidden gun. So, they both die, and man is Sarah gonna be pissed.
S isn't the only death we get. So, Gracie can't bring herself to betray Helena and tells Mark he couldn't find her. Too bad Mark sees through it and reluctantly tells Coady. They trace her phone, which Helena figures they'd do, so she tries to get out of there with Gracie. Too bad Engers shows up, executing Gracie and grabbing Helena.
Game of Thrones- I knew it! The fact that last ep they made it a point to mention Tyene is Ellaria's daughter unlike the other Snakes, I had a feeling Cersei was going to kill her in revenge for Myrcella. She chains them up and poisons Tyene, so Ellaria will be forced to see her daughter die horribly and then watch her corpse rot.
To be fair though, Ellaria started it by murdering Myrcella, who was innocent. I mean, she did that as revenge for the Mountain killing Oberyn, but its not like Cersei murdered him. The guy hopped in the ring with the Mountain, who sure, was Cersei's champion. But he knew what he was doing, and died fair and square (and got cocky). Ellaria shouldn't have poisoned Myrcella for that.
So Jon and Dany meet right at the beginning, I was shocked, I figured they'd draw it out. Heh, anyways, I forgot that Jon and Davos wouldn't be happy about seeing Melisandre, so she observes from afar, her work being done. She has a talk with Varys, where she mysteriously drops that she and him are both destined to die here in Westeros, a "foreign" land to them.
The meeting doesn't go well. Dany wants Jon to bend the knee, Jon has no time for posturing, sounding like a mad man talking about zombies. I mean, part of the problem is Jon is always someone who speaks plainly, while Dany is used to people underestimating and condescending to her. So I think Dany isn't used to someone not trying to play politics and outsmart her. He just wants to protect the world from zombies. And I think he does come off as not being as impressed by her as she thinks he should be. Which she's used to, but not for the reason she thinks. Its not because she's a girl, its because he freaking saw a zombie king, and everyone, not just her, is nothing, comparatively.
Eventually Tyrion talks to both of them and they talk on their own, and Dany does allow Jon to mine the dragonglass from the island.
I'm kinda annoyed that Tyrion has been trying to be clever, and its blowing up in his face. They lost Dorne and the Greyjoys last ep. Now, Grey Worm successfully takes Casterly Rock thanks to a secret tunnel Tyrion built so he could sneak in whores. Too bad his siblings attempted to attack Casterly Rock, so the Unsullied encounter little resistance. Indeed, while they're in Casterly Rock, Euron shows up to destroy their transports, stranding the Unsullied there.
Meanwhile Sam's dad takes up Jamie's offer and turns on the Tyrells. And so, the Lannisters and the Tarlys defeat the Tyrells offscreen. Jamie, out of respect for Olenna, gives her a painless poison to spare her from some horrible torturous death from his sister. Heh, Olenna drinks it, and then reveals she was the one who poisoned Joffrey.
But what the hell, Dany's lost all the allies she made at the end of last season! You expect them to kick ass, but they just get taken out rather quickly. I mean Tyrion's plan made sense, its just unfortunate his siblings are reading out of the same playbook. He knows he had to use the Dornish and Tyrell's to siege King's Landing, otherwise Cersei could play the dirty foreign invaders card. So he had to do X. But Cersei knows Tyrion has to do X. Tyrion should have expected his siblings would know he had to do X, and thus do something else.
Hopefully Dany and her people don't think he's a mole, leading them astray. Or think he knows nothing and don't heed the useful advice he does have, and going off half cocked and making a mistake.
Other stuff, Sam seemingly cures Jorah. So now instead of cleaning toilets, he's transcribing rotted scrolls!
And there's a reunion in Winterfell. But not Arya, its Bran who shows up. He's all weird and creepy, telling Sansa he sees all, like the time she got raped on her wedding night. I'm amused people liken him to that kid who went away to college, took some philosophy class and came back all emo and insufferable.
