TV commentary:
The Originals- Ah, I was wondering if that would be the case. Since they managed to save Elijah's spirit, I was wondering if his sire line would still die out with the death of his body. And they did! Which is how Kol and Rebekah find out about their brother's death, when a bunch of vamps they're partying with all of a sudden drop dead. Whoops! So much for the Strix! Which given Elijah's choice in people to sire, and the reach of the Strix, seems like its a pretty big freakin' deal if his line died out.
Anyways, Freya, Hayley and Hope manage to find Elijah's mind in the crystal so Freya can safely repair it. But, while there, Hayley witnesses what's behind the red door, and is attacked by Elijah's subconscious, so now she's kinda freaked out about him.
Klaus gets into a tiff with Marcel, his paranoia raising its ugly head when Marcel tries to get the last of the thorn stakes. Vincent needs the Hollow's blood to cure Sofya. Marcel of course gets his ass kicked when he tries to take it from her. But then he realizes the thorns can suffice for the spell when Klaus and the Bekster show up on their quest to eradicate the deadly weapon.
So even though Marcel doesn't need the thorns to kill them, Klaus is still distrustful. Of course, maybe if Marcel said that in the first place its to save Sofya instead of being mysterious, there would be less conflict. Mostly, this whole situation is engineered to make Rebecca jealous and realize she still has feelings for him when she sees how far he's willing to go to save Sofya.
Which of course will lead to drama, as Freya says she can sacrifice the Hollow to raise Elijah. But if that doesn't work, Marcel is the only thing powerful enough to suffice. So she lets her sister know she may have to one day choose between the two of them.
Kol also learns about the return of the Ancestors, and thus Davina. He tries to bargain with the Harvest Girls, but they tell him to eff off. However, the Hollow finds him and resurrects Davina and links herself to her. So she says Kol must do what she says if she wants to keep his precious Davina alive.
