Alone on shift today. Sucky. Especially since they closed off the front part of the building to retile/recarpet. So everything goes through the rear door, keys, bin pickups etc. They'll supposedly be done by today. I'm looking outside of the fishbowl, at people walking by who don't work here, wondering how many will reach the caution tape at the end of the back hallway or upper hallway, and have to turn back. And I've noticed this room has silent dead zones. There've been two times already where I couldn't hear the phone ringing from where I was, then I took a step or two to the right and start hearing it loud and clear. Mebbe its all the machines over there, I guess they don't really sound loud, it must be all the low noise they give off just drowns out anything else.

Random thought of the moment: hmm, morton makes pepper too!

Anyways, Mattm came up from Texas last Thursday. Friday night, the guys came over for poker, as usual. They started around 9, I went to sleep around 2am, and when I woke up at 10am, they were still playing! Tsk, I think they have a problem. They went to dim sum afterwards. I myself had two chili dogs and a double cheeseburger and a cheeseburger (they screwed up my order and gave me a double instead of a single) at the Varsity.

Around 1pm, Krug came back from Dim sum, and was already up for over 24 hours. He was gonna try and stay up and just pass out early that night, but he passed out after I started watching vol 2 of His and Her Circumstance I've enjoyed the series a lot so far. The DVDs are way past where I was in Kare Kano, but its nice to see everything worked out. Although they did work out the problem with Miyazawa and her nemeses surpisingly quickly. And overall, its a much lighter tone than Mars. I likie both, they're just totally different styles. Mars is more risque and scandalous.

Owel, finished that DVD and was trying to do the Two Qiaos board on DW4 with Zhou Yu when Chris called and asked if I wanted to see the Italian Job with him and Matt. It was a pretty cool movie, fun to watch. Tried to do a cookout at Chris's afterwards, but the rest of the guys were still passed out, and sis didn't show up until 10pm. Well, food was still cooked thankfully, and I stuffed myself with brats and burgers and a jello shot or two. Actually, watched some more eps off the family guy DVDs, saw some I hadn't seen yet. Hysterical show, I can't believe it got cancelled. Oh, and I also managed to cut myself on the battleaxe Chris got from Renfair or Renfest or whatever its called. Heavy axe too. The wakizashi/katana set he had was much lighter and easier to swing around. Actually, the katana he has seems lighter and handier than mine.

Also watched Fight Club. Sitting there, slightly enebriated, I finally saw all the romantic implications. I mean, one can see it as a movie about anarchy, but like the book, its also a fucked up love story. I mean, watching it knowing he's actually Tyler and then seeing their conversations and her reactions in that light, the movie can be taken as this drama about a chick in love with a crazy person!

Heh, and I think sis has hit me no less than five times this weekend. I mean, with her taking care of drunk chris and cleaning up after the cookout and making him a cake on his B-day, I kept making jokes how she finally knew her place. (Ha! Its all in good humor, ladies!) So I did deserve it.

Owel, now its just another Monday morning. Looked up stuff on "Fearless". Had no idea it was based on a series of novels. And the main character of the books sounds like a young Sydney with superhuman speed and strength. I hear the series shares the main character and concept, but is totally different from the books.
