The Americans- Of all the "long cons" the Jennings have had to pull throughout the seasons, this one cracks me up the most. Seriously, seeing Philip and Elizabeth having to sit through dinners pretending not to react when the Morozov guy just shit talks Russia all the time is hilarious. I mean, they're professional spies, but surely one day they're just going to lose it and deck the guy. Or maybe Tuan will, because that boy seems a little too hardcore into the whole "America sucks" thing.
Like, whatever, you little hypocritical punk! I see you being all, "Bah, these Americans are weak, having too much food to eat!" and wot-not, but he's all over those Bennigan's left overs. Also annoying? Pasha, who's all, "I'd rather be dead back home than here!" Over-dramatic much? Boo hoo.
And we meet the chick Stan is into, played by Laurie Holden. Hey, she does the 80s exercise gear look well, she was looking pretty hot, reminded me of when she was dressed similarly on Due South a few decades ago. Heh, with a weird scene where Aderholt is telling Stan a good place to take her, I'm wondering if they're setting it up for him to be out on a date with her at the same time Tuan and his "parents" (I missed what Philip and Elizabeth's cover names in these roles) and the Morozov family are out to dinner? That would be a kinda hilarious way for things to come to a head.
Anyways, I'm amused how the audience has gotten so paranoid that they're worried Renee is some sort of plant.
But man, Oleg is screwed. So the CIA comes knocking on the Feebs' door, all, "Good work, Stan! Now what can we do to really get Oleg under our thumb?" And Stan refuses to help, because it seems uncool to eff him over for following his conscience and telling the US about the William plot. Like now they want to use the recording Philip made to blackmail him. Stan tries to lodge a complaint, but basically the higher us are all, T-S, the CIA does what it wants. And they're going to try to turn Oleg regardless of what Stan says.
And man, that's kinda messed up that Paige's parents teach her a trick to get outside of herself and disconnect, mostly so she can eff Matthew and not fall in love and accidentally spill the beans about them.
