A Series of Unfortunate Events- Finally got around to this. So, I never read the books, and I only vaguely remember the movies, but the show is interesting enough so far. Pretty hilarious at times. I also don't find it as bleak and despair inducing as people (and Patrick Warburton) say it is. I mean, those kids get a bum deal. But I feel more frustration and anger than sadness.
But yeah, as I said, I never read the books, and I don't remember this in the movie, but there's an interesting subplot they've added, I think. From what I can tell, the books hint the parents are still alive, but here, they totally are (played by Will Arnett and Cobie Smulders), and I guess are some sort of super spies? And Aunt Jenna from TVD plays another spy secretly watching over the kids? So that part has me intrigued, since it implies more will go on besides Count Olaf engaging in crazy schemes to get the kids' fortune.
