TV commentary:

Shooter- Huevos Grande, Bob Lee! Basically switching out Lon's bullets for one that would explode in his face and thus having to stand as bait to get Lon to shoot at him is pretty ballsy. I mean, all sorts of things could've gone wrong. (Yeah, I know its a TV show, but I like to over-analyze)

At first, I wondered why he put it in the 3rd slot, but I realized he wouldn't know which direction Lon would start on the side saddle. So his best bet was the middle. But yeah, I get Bob knows Lon is an amateur, but what if Lon had checked his scope beforehand and thus noticed it was off, allowing him to actually make the first shot? I was wondering how Bob knew Lon would miss with the second shot, but I guess since Swagger messed up the scope, at that far a range Lon would need to fire a shot to see where the bullet would go and adjust accordingly. Though he could've gotten lucky and managed to scope in correctly! Unlikely, but possible.

I suppose its possible Lon purposely fired off to miss, because he wouldn't want to accidentally hit Julie or Payne, and thus end any incentive for Bob to stand there. After all, he may not have fine tuning of his scope yet, and thus the shot could be off by a matter of inches, but even those ranges, he would know where the shot would go within a matter of feet. So I guess he would purposely fire in an area that would not hit anyone involved, but give the sighting he needed to get his scope right.

And there was always the slight chance Lon would have to switch the bullets he had for some reason, but I guess there's always some risk, and fortune favors the bold. And there would be no show if Lon was successful.

But I also call BS on them being able to see the explosion from where they are! I mean, the amount of charge needed to kill Lon wouldn't be that much, it would be a small explosion, not visible from several hundred yards away.

Heh, I also have to call shenanigans on the Payne stuff. Its like, Bob Lee wouldn't know Payne would do the weird shotgun thing and thus need to have something big enough to blow Payne's arm off. I mean, its quite lucky he had Isaac on a .50 cal for that situation. Like the only reason they'd need a .50 cal there is if they need to disable a vehicle by cracking the engine block. It wouldn't be for the range, because a .338 lapua would have sufficed and be in a better package for anti-personnel use. Besides, as Bob said, Isaac is not skilled enough to fire at the long ranges of the .50 cal.

I guess since Isaac was way closer to the handoff than Lon, maybe the .50 cal was indeed for anti-vehicle use. But otherwise, since Bob shouldn't have known Payne would tie a shotgun to Julie's neck and duct tape it to his arm, there's no way Isaac blowing Payne's arm off would be in his plan! As I said, since Issac was much closer, even he could make that shot. But they wouldn't have known he would've had to make that shot. I don't think Bob had time to contact Isaac after everything started, so after Lon was killed, he shouldn't have expected Isaac to think, "hey, with my weapon I could blow off Payne's arm and thus prevent him from firing it/him falling won't set the shotgun off". Though I guess despite being on opposite sides for most of the series, they did serve together. So maybe he does know enough about Isaac to realize he would make that shot/Isaac would know Bob would want him to make the shot and be ready for it. Also, who knows if severing Payne's arm wouldn't have caused a twitch or something that would've set it off?

But heh, I didn't expect the Russians to just unceremoniously kill Meachum pretty quickly after his failure.
