geebsSo watching "My Christmas Love" on Hallmark, and its weird seeing Mr Branson from the Scream TV series in a Hallmark Christmas Romance movie. Anyways, I'm finding this movie weirdly interesting. Well, I'm not sure why someone would find getting the 12 gifts of Christmas romantic rather than incredibly weird. I mean, getting bird and rings is one thing, but maids a milking and lords a leaping? Also, holding a bucket of milk is not the same as "milking".
But that's not really what I find about this movie. Usually, these things, if one of the characters is secretly sending the romantic lead a gift, the audience knows. I mean, I presume its Liam sending the gifts to Cynthia, but the viewer doesn't know for sure. Other than him getting incredibly jealous and annoyed when she thinks its the Scott guy. But yeah, it seemed like it was a good 30-45 minutes in before it seemed like he actually was interested in her in that way (and also, not gay).
There's a half hour still to go, but heh, if it is Liam sending the gifts, that's freaking dedication to just silently sit by and continue on sending the gifts when some other dude is taking credit for it. Not even a secret confrontation all, "Hey, a-hole, how dare you take credit for my gifts!" Also, that's pretty ballsy of Scott to actually take credit for the presents, when he had to know it would eventually blow up in his face. (Which it just did as I was typing this paragraph)
And now Liam is totally saying he didn't do it. Although he's incredibly hurt that now she says she knows its him because he's the only one left and it couldn't be anyone else. All, so now that she's gone through all the other options, now she chooses him. To be fair though, he's all, "Why would I join you on a 2 week trip with your family if we were just friends?" She's not a mind reader! Excuse her for thinking you're a really close friend!
Anyways, if it really isn't him, then I am totally confused, because while he is upset that she only thinks it was him now that he's the only one left, he is the only one left. So if not him, then who?!!
It turns out the gifts were actually for the dad, sent by their mom after her death. Then why the eff didn't the gift people like correct the family when they thought it was for Cynthia!? But at least now it makes sense why the movie didn't show Liam planning this, because he didn't!
Obviously, they end up together in the end. But heh, did they really have to pair the spares, with Scott hooking up with Liam's random ex Maggie (who just happened to be one of the ladies dancing) in the end?
