TV commentary:

Frequency- Pretty good winter finale. And interesting, they manage to come up with a situation a timeline change can't fix! So, as expected, Daniel is still with his gf Claire. Nay, fiancee, as Raimy bumps into Claire in the elevator after being surreptitiously kicked out of the apartment to hide their illicit affair, and she's wearing the ring! Which Raimy saw at Daniel's apartment when he was drunk, so he freaking proposed to her even after seeing Raimy! Interesting that Raimy recognized her but Claire didn't, because that would've been quite suspicious if the crazy lady from the restaurant was in Daniel's building, and has this troubled look on her face.

But yeah, Raimy confronts Daniel about it, and he gives some bullshit about how he proposed and got scared he was making the safe choice and how he's drawn to Raimy, blah blah blah. Heh, she does end up sleeping with him again, but its interesting because she is definitely skeeved out about the situation. So if the timeline gets fixed and her mom is alive again to introduce them, she'll still have this memory now of Daniel being a cheating dick. Like sure, the Daniel in the changed timeline will never have cheated, but its hard to trust him knowing how he'd react in a certain situation. Like if he proposes to her, how does she know he won't have those same fears about making the "safe" choice and get with some other girl? So like I said, this is now a problem that can't be fixed.

Meanwhile, Frank thinks he has a way to get Stan thanks to a secret meeting he hears about from Maricella. Only he tells Satch who warns Stan. So Stan, knowing the meeting is bugged gives Frank a speech about loyalty and how he can't trust Maricella because she can't trust him and how he has no loyalty from anyone because of his poor life choices. He taunts Franks on ruining his marriage trying to take him down. So Frank realize Satch betrayed him.

Satch isn't crooked. Well, I guess he's crooked in that he's turning a blind eye to Stan's shenanigans. But otherwise, he's not involved with Stan's shit. He's a company man, and he doesn't want to do anything to risk his career. So he finally lets Frank know that while Frank seems perfectly fine ruining his career trying to take down someone who is untouchable, Satch can't follow him down that road, he just wants to do his job. (Though fighting corruption should be his job too!)

Anyways, Nightingale stuff. Deacon Joe is the Nightingale killer. Well, 99% the killer. So Raimy sees the call from Meghan and tracks the lead down. Meghan was transferred from Bellvue to a private care facility which she escape and manages to call again. Raimy had the precinct forward any calls from Meghan to her cell and they talk, but Meghan is grabbed before Raimy can get to her.

So Raimy tells Frank he has to check with younger Meghan. Frank is a little skeptical, because he thinks she could just be crazy, but in talking to her, he sees all sorts of red flags, and how she's definitely scared and the victim of abuse. But the kicker is how her mom disappeared. Her mom, the registered nurse!

Unfortunately, that's all circumstantial in 1996. Which sort of doesn't matter since Raimy wants her dad to kill him just to be sure. But he needs definitive proof before he freaking murders someone! So Raimy tracks things down in the future. She breaks into the Deacon's house and gets into an altercation and the Deacon escapes. However, she finds all sorts of evidence. Including the wife's body, bound like the Nightingale victims. Again, this is almost definitive proof that he's the killer. But it also could be Meghan's missing brother, and like the Deacon was just hiding the evidence for him.

Its funny, because while this is a major break in the case, Satch thinks the evidence could be inadmissible because Raimy broke in (she claims she heard Meghan's cries for help). But I guess Raims doesn't care, because she's just going to have Frank kill him anyways.

And it sounds like he just might! So after the stuff with Stan, Frank shows up back home to apologize to Julie about how he messed up things so bad and he just wants her back. They make love and so now he's even more fiercely protective of her. So when his daughter confirms Deacon Joe is the Nightingale, it does seem like he will do anything to not lose Julie again.

One thing that's still unanswered though is why the Nightingale continues on when Frank survives his original death? Like we know why Julie became a target, because she was at the hospital for Frank and is the one spotted by the Nightingale rather than the other nurse. But unlike the movie where the killer survives because the wife is still on duty because Frank didn't die and saved him that same day. The change seems to be further down the road. Because he originally killed that other nurse, which means he was still alive several weeks after Frank's death.

So what could've happened down the line that would cause him to stop in the original time line that's changed now that Frank is alive?
