TV commentary:

Vampire Diaries- Double crosses and deals, left and right. So the girls getting kidnapped makes everyone go out of their minds. Alaric wants to take the girls away from Caroline after all this, saying she and her vampire folks are trouble. Meanwhile, Sybil whammies Enzo over the phone and Bonnie has Stefan go into his mind to try and help. And he figures out he can trace Sybil through that connection. But its hard on Enzo's mind, but Caroline doesn't care, she'd be find with turning his mind to mush if that finds her her girls. Needless to say things are tense between everyone.

Things are also tense between the Siren sisters. Sybil is pretty pissed that Seline never came for her, though Seline says she was working on it. Like with her current plan, she kidnapped Josie and Lizzie in order to offer them up in her and Sybil's place to serve Cade. But Damon and Sybil double-cross her. Damon manages to convince Stefan to go along with a different deal with Cade. Instead of the girls being his new servants, the brothers will. And so Stefan agrees in order to free the girls. And Sybil makes it so Seline is cut out.

So he tells Caroline he's given himself over to Cade, and that he only has 24 hours to spend with her before he leaves. Which is quite unfortunate, since Caroline gave up the girls. Like, she takes Alaric to task about his comments about the girls not being hers. Technically, they are Alaric and Jo's, but Caroline did carry them and raise them for 3 years, so even though she's not their biological mother, she's had the job for a while now. There's a maternal bond there. But she also realizes he had a point. The MF gang's lives are insane, and they are dangerous for her to be around. Of course, that's also a little BS, because the twins are siphons. So they're already supernatural, which always tends to attract other supernaturals.

In the end, Matt and Alaric are kinda pissed at all the bad stuff that's happened recently. And they blame Damon, so they go after him and stake him. The ep ends with Damon seemingly dying, but obviously he isn't, since he joked at how ironic it was that they were trying to kill him now of all times. Because he just made a deal with Cade, presumably making him unkillable. Because the Salvatore Brothers would make crappy replacement servants if they could be killed like normal.

Of course, they act like its an upgrade for Cade, but is it? I mean, vamps are tough, and if they become unkillable there's prolly nothing they can take down physically. But sometimes you need something more subtle than a sledgehammer. Like a couple of lovely ladies who can mind control people. Like they could just mind control the brothers and Cade would have the best of both worlds!
