Black Mirror- Ha, I knew what the twist was before it even started! I mean, soldiers fighting monstrous creatures on a sci-fi anthology show about the dangers of technology? Of course it was the monsters weren't really monsters and were only seen that way in order to make the soldiers have less empathy and thus kill the "enemy" with no compunctions. There was an Outer Limits ep with this exact same concept!
But yeah, it was fine for it was, definitely bigger budget than that Outer Limits ep. I liked the use of the drone streaming live vid to the soldiers' ocular implants, though you'd think they'd make it so it wouldn't take over the soldier's field of vision.
The only part that I disliked was when the psychiatrist was telling Stripe about what was going on, and he tried to justify it by saying all sorts of prejudiced things about the people who were "roaches", going so far as to say they were genetically inferior. Its like him trying to sell it as those people are still bad, the implants just make it easier to pull the trigger, makes the guy a little more one dimensional. I think it worked better when he didn't try to justify it and it was what it was. The roaches being the enemy because of some socio-political reason we didn't know about would've worked better for me.
On a totally different not, I know she was a bloodthirsty maniac, but Raiman was kinda cute.
