geebsME blather- Finally beat the game on insanity! So I can say I've platinum-ed the game. Annoyingly, while my PSN profile shows the platinum, my N7 HQ page does not. Or rather, it only shows me at 67 out of 69 achievements. Of course, that page is showing no data for the world anyways, I myself can only see my stuff if I log in. So maybe I have to play and beat a MP game to get the info to propagate.
Anyways, I am also a moron. So, after beating it, I went to edit my save in gibbed so I could start a new playthrough with Kaidan. But after decrypting the file in Brute Force, I was getting an error opening the save in Gibbed. I later found out it was because its not the "Legend" save I was supposed to edit, its the "Chapter" save. But not that's the only reason I was a friggin idiot.
Since I had decrypted a previous file and changed the plot and still had that on my computer, I re-uploaded it to my PS3. I figured whatever, I'll just use that file instead. And so I beat the game again (and starting from right after you recover from being blowed up and head towards the beam all the way through the end takes 45 minutes) and when I finally got to the end when they're putting Shep's name on the memorial wall, I was quite perturbed to see Ashley still around.
I then realized its because while I did indeed re-upload the modified save, I forgot to change careers to it when I reloaded. So I actually beat the game again on my most recent playthrough! Idiot! But yeah, it was at that point I realized the right file to edit in my other save, so I did that and re-uploaded it, so I just need to beat the game yet again to start my new run with Kaidan. I'm just pissed I wasted 45 minutes of my life replaying the wrong save.
Random other ME3 comments:
1) When doing Cerberus HQ today, I'm always in a panic because there's a time limit before they vent the hangar, resulting in a mission fail. I've come to realize (or I figured it out before, but then promptly forgot) that the timer doesn't start until AFTER you kill all the enemies. I guess that make sense, because trying to destroy an Atlas with a bunch of centurions tossing grenades and a pesky nemesis just running around and hiding would surely be difficult to end within 85 seconds.
At least now I know, which means I don't have that hanging over my head next time. The non-existent timer had been causing me to be stupid, riskily rushing to try and take out the Atlas and ignoring the normal troops who would shoot me in the back.
2) Freaking Vega with the Typhoon and inferno ammo man! So in the final fight before the end, he'd freaking melt the Brutes instantly before I had a chance to do anything! And this was on insanity!

Arrow- Oh, those big teases! When Digg was imprisoned with Deadshot, I was like, is this another consequence of Flashpoint? Then they made it sound like he just survived the building collapse. But then, it turned out he was just a figment of Diggle's imagination. WTF?!
But ha, in the flashback, when Ollie was still upset with KGBeast for killing those other dudes after Ollie got them to work together, I had a feeling it was going to be revealed they were like killers or rapists or whatever.
Heh, Sam from Popular hears about Quentin being appointed Deputy Mayor and reports all, "That's an interesting choice, the DISGRACED former police chief!" Heh, I'm surprised she's not bring up the fact that Ollie's chief of staff is his sister, and not only did Quentin leave the police force in a bad way, he's the father of two women Oliver has dated, since I'm sure his dalliances are pretty known from back when he was a rich playboy.
Oh, and Felicity reveals to Ragman that she directed the nuke to his hometown to kill less people. It seems to go well. But who knows? And interesting, Curtis finally in the the comics accurate Mr Terrific costume!
