So, this is an interesting quiz- choosing what a self-driving car should do depending on different scenarios.
So the scenarios change each time. Like the first time I took it, it was just the barrier or the crosswalk. The second time through I got questions where its people crossing illegally vs legally. Which at first I was, well, go down the path where the car has the right of way according to the light. But then there were questions where it was criminals or animals crossing legally vs like children or pregnant ladies crossing illegally.
So that did cause the evaluation preferences at the end to fluctuate. Like the first couple times through, I showed a preference for traffic law over the average, like why should the car swerve and kill its occupants for someone who shouldn't have been in the street in the first place? But another time I tried, the scenarios I got ended up having me choose to save the people crossing illegally more often than previous due to their makeup. Like a bunch of criminals in the car vs kids. Of course, I wish it was more granular. Are these "criminals" in the middle of a crime, or are they people with extensive criminal records (or worse, people that "look" like criminals) but aren't currently committing a crime?
So far my most consistent pick throughout is a preference of humans vs animals.
TV commentary:
Criminal Minds- Heartbreaking ep. And interesting, given what I was just talking about above. JJ is hit hard by a particular case. Why? Because in the end, she had to choose between two victims, and she feels incredible guilt because she picked the one who reminded her of her son.
Though what's up with this kid, when JJ was asking who his favorite comic character is, and he's all "You've prolly never heard of him!" What is he, some kind of hipster?! And its freaking Silver Surfer! He's not that obscure, he was in a freaking movie in the last decade!
But yeah, I mean, its interesting because she says she chose Berto because he reminded her of Henry, but he's also the one of the three she's actually interacted with, so they weren't just a name or face to her. Though its weird Francesca knew JJ's name, is it because that's what her brother yelled? I mean, I guess once she heard it, what else is she going to call her? But it does seem like a level of familiarity that wouldn't have been there.
And picking Berto first totally had her spiraling about her other decisions. Should she have sent Luke to chase the unsub, they coulda worked together on freeing folks. Of course, if he wasn't out there, he might not have gotten the bolt cutters in time to save the unsub's sister. Or maybe if she chose Francesca first, the way things were laid out, JJ wouldn't have been cut off. Like if she freed her first, then maybe she still woulda been able to get to Berto.
Also I wonder how guilty he feels, since he faked sick and so his sister was alone. Of course, since the siblings were the target all along, that might not have made a difference and they woulda just both been dead since he had who he wanted right from the get go. I dunno if they would have told him his sister would have been grabbed regardless so he doesn't beat himself up.
Frequency- Haven't seen this yet, but one of the biggest changes from the movie is that the characters are changed from Mets fans to Yankees fans. Of course, I guess since the timeline was also moved up from 1969/1999 to 1996/2016, they couldn't do the whole son telling the dad about the 69 World Series.
Arrow- Heh, I thought they were caught up from the past? Like I thought, okay, now that all these interlopers are off the island, this is when he gets found. But I guess now we're seeing how Ollie knew the Bratva and KGBeast? So he left the island on his own, didn't go back to Star City, instead choosing to do Russian stuff, and then eventually will go back to the island?
