So last week was down in HH for the yearly vacation. Although this time it was just me, [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 and [livejournal.com profile] sparkyboy. They flew down from NY, and since I didn't feel my car was big enough for the three of us and our luggage (at least comfortably), rented a car for the trip. I went for an intermediate SVU, getting a Jeep Renegade Trailhawk from the rental place. It had some neat features that I liked, though I was a bit precarious about it at first since the back was a little shorter than I expected. But since I could stack stuff higher in the back, it definitely had more cargo space than Hiro. But all in all, a fun ride.

It was a fun and interesting time. It was nice to finally get my own room and bed. And we could hit the stores and not have to wait on a half dozen people, or wait for the old folks to get back from church for breakfast. Not that we went out much. Like after I picked up E on Saturday, we just killed time and ate out at Outback as we waited for me brudder's flight to come in. I guess there were storms in the midwest, which somehow delayed the flights in Savannah, and his flight kept getting pushed back. Sunday we spent most of the day after church hitting like Wal-mart and Kroeger buying groceries for the week.

Didn't really want to venture out Monday, since it was the Holiday and didn't want to lose my parking spot. So hit the pool in the morning, and A cooked up some steaks for dinner, caught up on PLL and Scream since he hadn't seen any of this season and the new eps were on Tuesday.

Tuesday we hit Tangiers. Like I said, it was cool to go around and then get to leave when we were actually done, as opposed to having to wait for the aunts.

Went to Carabba's for dinner Wednesday, since it was next to Adventure Cove. Intended to go mini-golfing there, but alas, there was a thunderstorm. And E had left over dessert, so rather than leaving it in the cart to melt while we killed time in the arcade or something waiting for the rain to let up, we just went home.

The rest of the week just loafed around, hitting the pool in the mornings and watching Hallmark channel's Christmas in July special and other TV at night. By the time Saturday rolled around, had breakfast at IHOP since we could take our sweet time since we had to be out by 10, but their flight wasn't until 3pm.

Actually got back by 5pm. I was going to return the rental on Sunday, but since [livejournal.com profile] clevemire misread an e-mail I sent earlier in the week, ended up clearing out the car real quick to return it that night. K picked me up and we went back to his place and met up with the GMA for dinner.

TV commentary:

The Fosters- Aw, Callie! But ha, how opportune, it seems like that all came out at the perfect time since the Moms seemed to forget about why they were lecturing her in the first place. But it was nice for all that to finally come out. Heh, so Callie gets suspended for decking a guy who made a really a-holish comment (does he have a shot, or does she only do her brother?) and ends up meeting that trans dude from Faking It, spending the day with him riding on his motorcycle. Lena catches him, and she and Stef sit Callie down to ask what's up with her.

Finally, she just blurts out if they're going to reverse her adoption, just get it over with. And its an emotional moment, because Lena and Stef are dumbfounded. Like never in a million years would they ever think of doing that. And all of a sudden, all the anger is gone, and they reassure Callie. And its Callie's turn to be dumbfounded, because she didn't expect this. And then it turns to embarrassment, that she would ever think the moms would abandon her.

But anyways, heh, because the mothers were so overwhelmed that this girl they love has so many abandonment issues because of the life she's had, they quickly try and reassure her, which, does this mean Callie gets off scot free for riding on a motorcycle with some 19 year old dude?

Other stuff, some bitches try to blame Mariana for the whole situation that happened, but she shuts them down in the end during Lena's speech about not being governed by fear. Emma and Jesus decide to become exclusive friends with benefits- like for some reason Emma doesn't want to date, but she's fine with just screwing around, but they both get freaked out about STIs and so decide to just eff each other. Which, it seems like they're pretty much in a relationship.

Oh, and in a pleasant surprise, Taylor takes Jude to her church group, which is very accepting of LGBTQA folks, totally shocking Jude. But also upsetting him, because it seems like Taylor is trying to set him up with the pastor's son, even though they're supposed to be going out. Like Daria apologized earlier for saying Jude was gay and how she just didn't want her friend to get hurt. So Jude is trying to commit to being with Taylor. So this is kinda messing with the vibe he's been trying to create. In any case, I'm guessing this new kid is his new love interest?
