Powers- Woah, weird, they used Criminal Records for some scenes in this latest ep. Its prolly been over a decade since I've last been, but did they move, or did they do weird construction where they turned the parking lot into a street or something?
But I digress, this ep actually has me eagerly anticipating the next ep! Its interesting, because I myself did not pause it, but I heard from a review that the letter Walker was reading (how odd that they didn't read it aloud for the audience) was from Janis all, if she were to ever die, they need to put in contingency plans to take out Static Shock, because he's effin nuts. The letter claims he's obsessed with the Ghost, but how its a figment of his imagination.
However, obviously, since Kutter saw and got stabbed by the Ghost, he's a real person. Are they two aspects of the same being maybe? Because Static Shock does seem to be way off, like had we not seen the scene in Criminal Records with Kutter, I'd totally believe he had a Tyler Durden thing going on with the Ghost, and the flashbacks we saw were tricky and from an unreliable narrator. As it is, there is definitely a real component to the Ghost.
Heh, and did Zora not see what Calista did? When she flew up in the air and detonated her pops, Zora was chastising Cross, as if this was all his fault for forcing Calista to go in and handle her father. I mean, its weird because it seemed like more a Zora angry because her friend was forced into a dangerous situation that literally blew up in her face, as opposed to Calista pretty much murdering her dad once he was out of range of any innocents. Like if it was a whole thing where Zora felt that Cross putting Calista in that situation made her all volatile and causing her to kill her dad, I'd accept that, but I like I said, her anger seemed more the former.
Other stuff, didn't expect to see Krispin again. I figured more than a few weeks have passed already. Why would his body still just be out on a random table? And weird, was undead Marigold a figment of his imagination? Some sort of weird ghost? Because she was still around for a few seconds after he had jumped off the building. But it will be interesting to see how people react to him. I mean, I guess they proved he didn't kill Retro Girl, but since when do people care about the facts? I'm sure there's people out there who still think he had something to do with it.
Preacher- Hmm, we finally find out what Eugene did, and I'm kinda annoyed that had made me feel sorry for him last week, because eff that guy! Now, I'm not the type of person who would harass such a guy, like I definitely wouldn't taunt him all, "He should've finished the job and tried blowing his head off again", because that's incredibly tacky. I mean, if you're someone immediately involved, I think such acts can be excused by grief. But I can't stand lookie-loos who are angered by a situation, but instead of just just shit talking with their friends like normal people, they make harassing phone calls and post stuff on social media and crap. Its like, what do you think you're doing, who the eff are you to be involving your ass in this shit?
But I digress. I hate those kinda people, but I hate effin pathetic assholes like Eugene even more. So yeah, we find out Tracy was Miss Popular, and he gathered his courage to confess his love to her, but she rejected him, so he shot her in the head and proceeded to do the same on himself but they both ended up surviving. I mean, she's in a coma, and he's horribly disfigured, but he still gets to walk around.
Ida know, maybe that's not the whole story and that's not actually what happened. But until I hear otherwise, eff that guy. I hate these scumbags who get all offended when some girl rejects them and they go all effin crazy and do something to hurt the girl. Its such friggin bullshit, its because these entitled pricks think if they're just really nice to the girl they like, she has to be all, "Oh, you love me, I guess I have to love you now!"
I mean, I just don't get where this mentality comes from. If some girl they don't find attractive confesses her love to them, they would reject her. So I don't understand how we got the those point where we have so many little shits feeling all entitled that all they have to do is put a few niceness coins into the girl they like, and she'll finally stop seeing "all the assholes she usually goes for" and be with the super nice guy because he's great and special because he's nice. She's not a thing, women have free will, and they like who they like, just like everyone else. This whole messy way of thinking takes away the woman's agency, reducing her to a trophy to be won if only the guy does the right thing. Its like, sometimes they're just not attracted to you, and nothing you do is going to change it. Just friggin accept it, and move on!
Sorry for the rant, but its one of those things that just really pisses me off.
But I digress. Interesting, heh, I guess they finally answered my question on whether Jesse knows about Cassidy. He didn't- I guess those times Cass broached the subject, Jesse was out of it? We also find out more about Jesse and Tulip's history. They were a couple of cute kids who wanted to be together forever. But then Jesse's dad called child services on her because he thought she was bad news and couldn't take care of her.
So, needless to say, Jesse was kinda pissed when she got taken away. Which he's so mad he prays for his father to die. Which of course seemed to direcly proceed when his father was murdered. No wonder Jesse is so effed in the head. Of course, I doubt the big G would answer Jesse's prayers like that, so there must've been something crooked in his father's past to lead to all this.
But yeah, interesting, does the Voice have an expiration, or was there some weird loophole I'm missing that makes Quincannon think he won the bet? i.e., he's still following Jesse's edict to serve God, but since he never actually turned Christian (which was how the bet was worded, Jesse promised to make a Christian out of him), he feels he won the bet. I guess that has to be it? Because if it was a time out thing, you'd think he'd realize he was compelled and be more freaked out. But he seems pretty chill about it.
Well, I guess he's still marching on Jesse's church with a bunch of armed men, but that seems less, "This guy put me under a compulsion!" and more Quincannon pissed because to him Jesse broke his word.
