Powers- What the heck is wrong with Deena's father?! Like I thought he knew how much his daughter loathed his crookedness? So when he ends up getting off, you'd think he'd act less proud of the fact that the charges were only dropped because he knew stuff that higher ups didn't want known. Its like, read the room dude.
Also, I forget, did we know Static Shock killer the Senator? I mean, he tells Walker its "The Ghost", but the flashbacks show him secretly killing Hitler the exact same way. So I assume he did it. Like he definitely seems unhinged. Which is kinda scary given his power level.
I still wonder what his deal is with Calista. He keeps thinking she's Janis, and she seemed to play along. But when Zora and Martinez wanted her to ask Static Shock to be their new mentor, she was hesitant to involve him. I guess maybe she recognizes he's kinda creepy, and perhaps she was just humoring so as to not accidentally piss him off?
PLL- Heh, they really wanted people to think Hanna might bite it! I mean, there was the fake out the beginning of the season, making the audience (and characters!) think she was dead and hanging from the bell tower. Then she escapes, only to be found by Mary Drake. And then the ep descriptions after the premiere talk about Hanna's "dark fate!". And she's fine, Mary drove her home no fuss, no muss.
Speaking of, ooh, Mary is pretty good at the manipulation, I think. I mean, her conversations with Spencer and Emily totally felt like she was playing them, catering to their personalities. Like we find out why Mary was locked up. Supposedly Jessica was baby sitting, and asked for Mary's help one night. She said she put the baby to bed and wanted Mary to watch things while she snuck off to a party. Sure enough, the parents came home to find the kid dead. Jessica claims the baby was fine when she left, and because she was the more popular one, the blame fell on Mary. But yeah, its interesting how she played up Jessica being the sister everyone liked and how it made her feel inferior, because I think she purposely did that to get Spence's sympathy because of her own rivalry with Melissa.
And then when she meets with Emily, she seems to guide Emily on the path that Ali is an innocent victim, and how she needs their, and especially Emily's help. Like I said, I think she's getting a good read on the Liars and telling them what they want to hear.
Too bad it looks like Mary and Rollins' partnership is beginning to crumble. Hmm, from the commercials for next week, I'm thinking the Liars break Ali out of the asylum, and Rollins chases her, and the Liars accidentally kill him and that's who they were burying in the premiere.
Other stuff, weird, what was with the look on Lucas face when he saw Hannah's hand. Was it because she broke up with her fiancee and no longer was wearing the ring? I mean, he always did have a thing for her. But it seems like Caleb and Spencer are on the outs, so are both Lucas and Caleb going to vie for Hannah's heart?
Scream- Wow, this ep actually made me feel a little sorry for Gustavo. So the pressure finally gets to Audrey, and she confronts Gustavo, and sees him drawing the gory pictures of them (and other non Lakewood-Sixers, like Zoe) She does this in front of everyone (since they were all locked in the library as the Sheriff locked the school down so he could investigate), and they are rightfully disturbed. But in this moment, Gustavo actually looked kinda small, like he's just some weirdo who's weirdness got outed.
The crowd turns on him rather violently (you'd think they'd hesitate beating up the sheriff's son, given the sheriff is on campus investigating a murder), breaking his tablet and beating him up. But at least Audrey does feel bad about the whole thing. She tries to make up for it by offering to fix his tablet/buying him a new one, but Gustavo tells her to fuck off.
More importantly, since Audrey is feeling kinda penitent and wanting to make amends, she doesn't keep track of her phone. Which Noah steals because Audrey started slipping up and mentioning the calls she got from the new killer, but she tries to play off as she meant texts (since she had told him about the texts), and he wanted to see why she was being sketch. He manages to unlock her phone, and so now he knows! Well, I guess I don't think he knows everything. I can't remember if her text exchange necessarily outs her, but at the very least he sees the video of her over the body at the storage locker. That will be interesting to see how this turns out.
He's not the only one who finds incriminating stuff on a cell- Gustavo's dad (who's kinda an asshole this ep the way he talks to these kids. I mean, thinking they're suspects, that's fair. Its his job to be suspicious and investigate. But telling Emma, "I believe you believe this is real!" I mean, Jake was definitely murdered, its no reason to discount Emma's claims the killer is back) gets a hold of Jake's phone. It was planted in Emma's bag. And unfortunately, since the cops were doing random locker searches, Kieran snuck out of the room to get to his locker because he has something bad in it- his father's gun. One of the deputies catches him, and Miguel strongarms him into tattling on Emma.
So now Emma is pissed at him for betraying her, and between that, Miguel's attitude, and the sketchy new teacher locking her in her office, she ends up keeping mum about the threatening phone call she got while in the office and seeing the killer in the hallway. Of course, she totally could've hallucinated those things, that's how stressed she is.
But I digress, since he got a hold of Jake's phone, he finds some sketchy and incriminating texts from last season.
Interesting, since Brooke was kinda gutted (just like Jake, ha!) by the horror she witnessed, and spent most of her time with the sheriff and her dad, she has no idea about the others' theories, and she totally thinks it was Mr Branson who killed Jake.
Oh, and that Haley, what a bitch! Bitching about the Lakewood 5 getting what seems like special treatment, but then just as easily calling for Gustavo's head when Audrey showed everyone his drawings. Her comment about Emma and the murders and there always being a crazy Duvall girl at the center of a murder (earning her a slap from Em) makes me incredibly suspicious. Is she related to one of the victims back in Maggie's day?
