12 Monkeys- Crazy ep! So, Jones, distraught over the events of last ep, sends Cassie to the past to kill her so time travel won't be invented. She feels while the plague is bad, building time travel to try and correct it gave the 12 Monkeys or whoever a method to destroy time itself. So best to just eliminate it, and maybe that would undo the damage to time. And Cassie, feeling guilty for her part in last week's events readily accepts.
Deacon learns about this and tells Cole, and they make Jones send Cole back to stop Cassie and bring her back. It seems too late at first, as Cassie manages to sneak in to the Spearhead base (since that's where Jones was at the time) and kill her right after her daughter Hannah dies, as that's the moment Jones decided to do create time travel. But as soon as she does, she splinters back to the moment she first appeared, but Cole is there now.
They also find out Jennifer is imprisoned at Spearhead, having been picked up as a random "scav". She tells them they're time looping. They're skeptical the first time around (well, Cole's first time, Cassie's second) but after a few loops, they figure they're stuck and rack their brains for a way to get out of it. I'm a little confused by Jennifer's presence though- was she always there, and thus they always had to go back and break her out so she could live to the future to tell Project Splinter where they could find Cole when he was trapped in the past at the end of last season?
In any case, Jennifer says they have two problems- they have to free her, obviously, but the more complicated part has to do with Jones. They can't let her die, because she needs to invent time travel, but they have to change something in order to change Jones mind about destroying her past self. And Cole eventually figures out a way.
We don't find out what until they finally manage to splinter back. At first Jones is skeptical about their time looping. Or rather, the cause of it- she laughs off their claims it was the universe forcing them to repeat until they got things right, saying it was just an error in the system that kept losing their tether and causing them to snapback.
She's bitter they didn't kill her, but they finally explain what they did- they had to make her THINK Hannah died. Earlier in the ep, we find out Hannah was indeed immune- she didn't die from the virus, just coincidentally happened to get sick from something else. Unfortunately, Project Spearhead implemented some Draconian measures and decided not to treat her, just assuming she was infected of the virus and letting her die.
So, it took Cassie and Cole a few loops, but they helped Jennifer escape, let Jones think her daughter died, then Cassie revived her and took her to stay with Jennifer and her people. Indeed, they take Jones to Jennifer's camp, where she meets the all grown up version of her daughter. Who's played by Catania from the Shannara Chronicles, so hopefully we'll see her again since she's mad cute. So this instills Jones with the hope to snap out of her funk (after all, saving her daughter was the reason she created time travel in the first place).
Cassie feels bad that they cheated Jones out of 24 years with her daughter, but Cole points out Hannah was dead before, so its not like Jones would have those years until they did what they did. In the end, Cassie goes off to collect her thoughts about what just happened, when she's confronted by a distraught Ramsey, who intends to shoot her and then himself. Luckily, she informs him that while the Witness was in her head, she was in its, so she knows where it is. So if Ramsey would just not kill the both of them right now, they can instead kill the Witness.
Scream- Heh, could the new characters be any more creepy? The new sheriff's son and Kieran's cousin are neck in neck as to who's creepiest. Gustavo continues to act all weird towards the Lakewood Six, though he's so weird I'm sure its a big red herring. Like Brooke starts to worry about no one hearing from Jake in two days, and goes to file a police report. While waiting on the sheriff, she talks to Gustavo, who be's all creepy, and we see him type on his phone right before his father is ready to see her, and conveniently "Jake" finally texts her back. The show would like us to think he's the one who really texted her, but again, its so obvious its got to be a fake out.
We meet Kieran's cousin Eli creeping in the halls making random conversation with Emma, which is weird because he doesn't even go to the school yet. Emma asks how he knows her name, and he just says, doesn't everybody by now. Which is fair, but is he trying to creep her out. Anyways, the sheriff figures Kieran is living alone, with his aunt only checking on him occasionally. So something has to change, or else. At first, it seems Kieran is moving to Atlanta, which makes Emma really sad because he's the only one she's really been able to talk to. But her mom talks to Kieran's aunt. And then Eli tells his mom they live in a shitty apartment with her asshole boyfriend, and moving in with Kieran would be a step up. And so she decides to move in.
Which is weird, because like I said, Eli was already in school acting like he goes there. But he didn't know he was going to at that point!
In any case, Emma is all thankful to her mom for arranging this, and is warming back up to her. So of course, the other shoe drops and she discovers her dad is in town, creeping on her trying to figure out a way to talk to her. Like I get he's at a loss with how to approach her all, "Sorry I abandoned you when you were a kid!" but slowly following her in a car with the lights off, and then suddenly turning them on and speeding after her is prolly not a good idea. Particularly with what she's been through!
Finally, Noah continues to investigate into Piper's accomplice, much to Audrey's chagrin. He finds a motel manager who saw Piper with her accomplice. So Noah learns its a her, but Audrey calls the motel manager with sthe voice modulator threatening the guy to not say anything. And so he suspiciously cuts the interview short. Which given how the guy changed his tune right after getting a call, Noah had to suspect he just got threatened!
I assume the motel guy doesn't know who Audrey is, just what she looks like, or he woulda said something before. But I find that crazy that he doesn't know who she is, given her face would've been out there as not only one of the Lakewood Six, but the one who actually killed Piper. And its not like she's easy to miss, she's got a unique look, at least for their town. Given how many views Audrey got when those idiots tried to prank her at the theater, I figured he'd be all, "OMG, she's Piper's accomplice!" if her knew. Like why would he sit on that info?
In any case, Audrey thinks she's nipped that part in the bud, but Noah mentions he figured out Piper had a storage unit, and they should check it out the next morning. Audrey agrees, but then immediately sneaks off by herself to check it out. She breaks the lock, where she finds Jake's body, along with a note pinned to his chest saying they were finishing the job for Audrey.
I'm kinda curious if she'll try and dispose of the body (doubtful, since she hopped a fence and ran to the unit, and she prolly couldn't drag his body easily to hide it), or if she'll just remove the note and have the body be discovered. Which will be heartbreaking for Brooke when she finds out Jake's dead.
