TV commentary:

Game of Thrones- Lot of set up this ep. Heh, that seems like a waste of Ian Mcshane, to just show up for this one ep and die. But whoops, those guys who killed him and the other villagers messed up! The Hound was just wanting to settle down and leave his old life behind! They should've let sleeping dogs lie, because now he's going to mess them up! I'm a little skeptical he missed everything though, its like, how far away was he? Even so, there were like a few dozen villagers. So I would think you'd need a sizable force to be able to kill them all right there without any of them being able to run away. Which, how could the Hound not hear them, not hear anything until they started screaming?

And what the hell, Arya? She's just walking around all normal, as if she didn't piss off a guild of assassins! I mean, I guess it happened fast, but if anyone, even a seemingly old lady started approaching her, she should be on guard! I heard a crazy theory that there's a Tyler Durden thing going on with Arya and the Waif. People have claimed the only peopel the Waif have interacted with are Arya and Jaqen. So its possible this is all a spiritual battle going on in Arya's head.

But hey, looks like Margaery hasn't drank the kool aid after all! She secretly let her grandma know she hasn't turned into one of these nutters and to flee the city to be safe. Cersei tries to dissuade Olenna from leaving, but the old broad cuts her down with words quite deliciously.

Heh, at Riverrun, Jamie and Bronn arrive just in time to see the Freys threatening to kill Edmure if the Blackfish doesn't give up. Hilariously, the Blackfish is all, "Go ahead and do it!" HA! They don't, and Jamie chastises the Frey idiots for doing such a thing. I'm reminded of an ep of B5, when they had Sheridan prisoner, and one of the baddies was all, why don't we threaten to kill his dad? And their compatriot lectured them on how that's always a dumb move- sure, they might give up, but on the other, if they refuse, you're up shit's creek. If you kill the person you threatened to, you lose your leverage, and the person you were trying to intimidate can just steel themselves further. If you don't, you weaken your position and again, your opponent's resolve is bolstered.

Anyways, Jamie and Bronn take over from these incompetents, and Jamie tries to parlay. Obviously, it does not work. The Blackfish is going to make them fight for Riverrun, no bones about it.

Meanwhile, Jon, Sansa, and Davos are on a recruitment campaign. Tormund manages to convince his wildling friends to join up. And heh, everyone seems to be all amused by Lyanna Mormont, who's pretty bad-ass for a little girl. Davos manages to convince her to join up, but she only has 62 dudes to give, though she claims each of her men is easily worth 10. Alas, they fail to secure any more Northerners, and Jon is all, whatever, we'll go with what we have. Sansa thinks that's monumentally stupid, and as such writes a secret letter to someone for support. The Blackfish? Littlefinger? I think its the former, because Sansa said they should secure his help, but for some reason Jon is unwilling.

And finally, hey, turns out Yara likes the ladies. Which is cool and all, but why do I get the sinking feeling that will just put her on the list of "fictional queer ladies killed in 2016" going around on tumblr?

Preacher- I am enjoying the show, even if it they do make some weird cinematic choices at times. Like was start with a flashback to the Saint of Killers, and at the end of the scene, they like do this loud beat and flash 1881 in big letters across the screen. As if it was a surprise this was taking place in the past!

Some interesting developments, those two creepy guys manage to come upon a drunk Jesse, and try to get whatever thing is powering him to have the Voice out of him. But hilariously, Cassidy shows up, and thinks its the vampire hunters mistaking Jesse for him. Which is kinda funny, because its not a bad assumption, because what are the chances both of them have crazed killers after them? He manages to kill the two weirdos, and there's a comical scene where the chainsaw he literally disarmed from the taller baddie flies out of control and slowly makes its way towards Jesse. And its such a bloodbath that Cassidy is literally slipping on all the blood trying to catch it. Heh, I'm skeptical he was able to clean that place up without Jesse knowing!

Strangely enough, while he dismembers them and is busy burying them, those same two guys show up to talk with the sheriff. cliffv('What's up with that?!')

But argh, Jesse is on the cusp of figuring out what he can do, but we end the ep before we see if he's able to prove his theory! Between this and GoT ending with the Hound grabbing his axe to do violence, I'm annoyed with the cliffhangers this week!

They do the big letters/loud beat every time they show the setting, it wasn't particular to 1881.
