TV commentary:

Game of Thrones- Smooth move, ex-lax! On the one hand, I can understand Bran being frustrated at the slow pace of his training, tree guy pulling him out of his visions just when they're getting really good, being stuck in cave all day. So he ends up going vision questing on his own, running into the White Walkers and getting marked by the Night King. Which allows them to finally get into the cave.

And so the White Walkers show up with their zombie army, and everyone except Meera and Bran die- tree guy, the Children, Summer(!) and Hodor(!!!). We also find out the meaning of Hodor. Apparently it was caused by some crazy psychic feedback loop, since Bran was stuck viewing the past as they ran. He connected to past Hodor at the same time Meera was calling for present Hodor to "hold the door". And so somehow that caused young Wylis to hear that cry and it be the only thing he could say since. But yeah, he ends up holding the door so Meera and Bran can escape. Poor guy! But yeah, talk about a big eff up by Bran! (When tree guy tells Bran he has to leave, Bran's all, "Am I ready?!" and he's all, "No." HA!!)

In the Iron Islands, Yara makes her bid for rulership. People are skeptical at first, particularly with a male heir, Theon around. But Theon makes a good case for his sister, and people seem to come around... until Euron shows up and puts in his bid. He freely admits he killed his brother, disparages his niece and nephew, and then tells of his plan to make a huge fleet and get with Dany to transport her army over to conquer Westeros. Which is an interesting departure from the books- I guess they don't want to introduce a random new character who's supposedly another Targaryen heir he found. So instead of having him try to gain legitimacy from that, the show is going to have him try to use Dany for that role?

Anyways, so while he's taking the test (getting drowned and coming back on his own), Yara and Theon peace out with her most loyal followers and the best ships. Euron wakes up and is quite annoyed his niece/nephew ran off with part of the fleet. So, he's having his new subjects double time it on the rebuilding the fleet so he can go and kill more family members.

Across the sea, Dany say she'll take Jorah back, but he reveals he has Greyscale. So she orders him to find a cure and heal himself and come back to her side when he's done. Meanwhile, in Mereen, it seems like hostilities have died down after Tyrion's negotiation with the masters. But Tyrion says they need more. Dany being the breaker of chains with the dragons and such is good, but with her missing and her crusade having lost steam for now, he thinks they have to make a deal with the Lord of Light folks to have them proselytize about her and keep her name out there. They meet with a red priestess, Kinvara, who agrees to do it, since their order does see Dany as their foretold savior (she has freaking dragons, what could be more fire-ish than that?!). Of course, Varys is skeptical, since Melisandre had declared Stannis the savior at one point.

Kinvara is all, eh, people make mistakes, and then scares Varys by telling him about stuff that happened to him when he was younger and first became a eunuch, stuff that no one else but him could know. In any case, it looks like they're allying with the Lord of Light, so it remains to be seen how Dany will react to these new allies. I'm guessing they have their own ideas about her crusade which she might not be happy about.

In Winterfell, Littlefinger somehow makes it all the way up to Mole's Town to secretly meet with Sansa and saying he's mobilized the Vale. Sansa is none too pleased to see him, saying either he knew what he was getting her into, making him an asshole, or he didn't, and he's a moron. He apologizes and says its the latter, but Sansa's rightfully mad, given all the torture she went through. She doesn't follow through with her threat to have Brienne just kill him, sending him packing. Petyr does say her uncle the Blackfish has amassed an army at Riverrun, and how she should seek him out for help.

In a meeting later with Jon and the others, she mentions this, but does not say she got it from Baeylish. She lies and says she knew of it from a raven Ramsey got when she was still there. Brienne is confused as to why Sansa would lie, but we don't get to hear why she did it. Anyways, she sends Brienne to Riverrun to secure that alliance, and marches with Jon out of Castle Black. Heh, I guess Dolorious Edd (I finally learned his name, which "Dolorious Edd" is a pretty memorable name) is Lord Commander now? After Jon and Sansa and their retinue leave, someone asks Edd if they should close the gate. And he's all, why are you asking me, I'm not the commander, but then he looks around and realizes, oh, he is!

Finally, in Braavos, Arya gets a final mission to prove herself, she's to assassinate an actress. I bet she was given this mission on purpose, since the play the lady is in is about Robert and Ned's death and Joffrey's rise to power. Something to rattle her and test her. Also, she observes the target, who seems to be nice enough. But Jaqen tells her, death comes for everybody. They're freaking assassins, they kill who the contract requires, not all their targets are evil bastards.

Preacher- Heh, this show seems interesting so far. Preacher, Tulip, and Cassidy are pretty bad-ass. I'm amused they and Emily are all played by English/Irish actors, yet only one of them is actually playing an Irishman, the rest of them are pretending to be Southern. Weird, for some reason Lucy Griffiths looks totally different here than she did on True Blood. I almost didn't recognize her.
