TV commentary:

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend- Heh, gross! Did not expect a song from Greg about how he effed Rebecca so much he gave her a UTI. Which, in addition to being gross, is kinda effed up given Rebecca ends up being hospitalized over it.

Speaking of, because of her collapse, Paula and Josh find out that the Bekster's been sleeping with Greg, and neither are pleased. At least for Josh its UST. I still find it weird that Paula forbids Rebecca from getting with Greg.

Oh, and that other friend of Greg and Josh who is not White Josh (looking it up now, I guess its Chris?) is stupidly trying to help Greg keep the upper hand by encouraging him to see other people. But obviously, Greg is going to go running if he gets a text that Rebecca is in the hospital. But that one girl being all, "I guess we'll have to have a threesome then!" And Chris is all, "Really?" and they're like, "Ew, no! She's my cousin!" Hey, you're the one who made the comment in the first place!

The Magicians- Wow, that was shocking and unexpected! Is there a season 2? It would suck if it ended this way. I was suspicious of Julia's summoning, I knew something was off, but I was not expecting that!

But first lets start with them getting to Fillory. So Q and Julia spy Jane getting caught in a trap like in the book, and are waiting for a couple of characters called the Witch and the Fool to help her. So they stare from the bushes for a while until they realize they're the witch and the fool. So they were in the books all this time.

They discover Martin followed them through the phone booth, and they get him to lead them to a weapon maker to create a weapon that can kill the Beast. He will do it in exchange for a price that Julia and Quentin seem to understand but the audience doesn't just yet.

They eventually run into another book character, a scary mysterious witch lady, but they soon discover she's Eliza i.e. older Jane Chatwin. Which is trippy, but she explains it was a way to help her younger self to get stronger by creating a boogie man to drive her younger self. Quentin sadly tells her this is the last time loop, but she seems to take it as well as she can. They ask her to shunt the to the future, so they can reunite with the rest of the gang, and they do. Oh, also, she learns that Julia has a memory patch in her head, but fears removing it just yet. She tells Quentin of it, but Julia remains unaware.

They go back to the forger, and he's been long dead, but his apprentice is alive. The weapon is ready, and awaiting payment. Turns out, one of them is royalty, and has to marry his daughter. He has a special knife that will cut the right person, and of course it ends up being Eliot.

So he gets married, consumates the marriage, while Alice, Penny, Josh, and Margo go to save Victoria, and she implores them to free another prisoner in the next cell. Who we eventually learn is Plover, so it turns out he's not the beast, Martin is. He was obsessed with staying in Fillory and found the Wellspring, the heart of Fillory's magic and absorbed it, which corrupted Fillory and burned away all his humanity.

Meanwhile, Q and Julia seek a couple of gods in Fillory, because they apparently can't hold the knife they had made to kill the Beast because they're not master Magicians. They're hoping they can get their help so one of them can actually wield the knife. Turns out one of those gods was killed, and the other trapped by the Beast. And like the headmaster, he's aware of the time loops and how Quentin has asked this favor several times before. So, he gives him a cup of his semen to drink, which will make him powerful enough to wield the dagger. Also, that Julia is usually dead by this time in the loop. He notices Julia's patch, and rips it off, and we learn the awful truth.

It wasn't all sweet sunshine when the Hedges did that summoning- the god they summoned was really a trickster named Reynard the fox. He kills the rest of the group save Julia and Kady. Julia stops him from killing Kady, allowing her to escape, but Julia gets raped in the process. And possibly impregnated. She ends up turning to Marina for help, because she's the only one she thought she could call, and Marina is much more sympathetic to her situation. She begs Marina to erase her memory, which is how she got the patch.

Anyhoo, Quentin changes things up, and says Alice should be the one to wield the dagger- it didn't work the first 39 times for him to be doing it, so maybe her being the one will make the difference. Or maybe he just didn't want to drink some goat dude's semen.

They go and confront the beast, and Quentin tries to distract him for Alice to stab him, but the knife is gone. He causes Alice to hemorrhage like Kady's mom, cuts off Penny's hands, and knocks out Eliot and Margo. He's just about to kill Quentin when it turns out Julia has the knife. But instead of killing Martin, she makes a deal with him. Since he's been able to kill a god, she offers to spare him if he helps her get revenge on Reynard. Which seems like a dick move! I mean, what happened to her was horrible. But Martin is just as big a monster! And her taking the knife like that may have killed the rest of the gang, since it ruined their ambush! I mean, Margo and Eliot might just be knocked out, but Penny lost his hands. And Alice didn't look in to good a shape there at the end.
