Daredevil- So Daredevil Season Two started, slowly making my way through that. Its been pretty good so far. I like that we didn't have to wait until we got cameos from Gladiator and Claire. But heh, episode three was their take on "The Choice". Since this is being done on a Daredevil show instead of a Punisher comic, Daredevil comes off as less of a chump, instead using the bullet to shoot off the chains binding him and try to get to Frank before he kills Grotto. He fails, but at least this time he goes for a third option in the no win situation, instead of actually pulling the trigger on Frank in the Ennis story.
Heh, I'm also amused how Daredevil talked about how he doesn't kill people, but damn, season 2's version of the "Hallway Scene", its like some of the stuff he does there, how could he have not killed some of those guys? I do like that even though Matt seemed to be in trouble there at the end, and it seemed like Frank was going to have to save him, he was able to save himself.
And interesting, the Punisher is hard, he withstands all that torture, but caves when they threaten the dog. So he's not totally heartless. I'm also glad they didn't delve to much into his family's murder. Thankfully we don't get a flashback to it or anything. I like that his talk with Matt at the cemetery was more about how scared he was to go home after the war, and how happy he was to see his family. I mean, we got a little bit of gory detail, but overall, we didn't need to see is family get slaughtered to understand him, I think that speech was enough.
Anyways, I do like how the Punisher arc ended(?), Matt tells his cop friend he has to be the one who "caught" Frank, to show the cops can still do their job and the public doesn't need someone like the Devil of Hell's Kitchen to catch a seemingly homicidal maniac. Matt needs the "regular" justice system to work, people can't just turn to the Punisher or the Daredevil. Heh, I hope he told his partner about the Daredevil convo, which since the news only credited him, seems like he didn't. Like wouldn't that make him look like a total a-hole? It seems like he lets go of the Devil to get the credit for getting the Punisher, so I would think he would have to say something to her. Heh, I dunno why I'm focusing on this one little detail, I guess because it messes up the narrative a little. Either they both should have been credited, or Brett should have found them alone. It kinda doesn't work if there's another witness at the scene.
But ha, Matt and Karen have a moment, and he goes home to find Elektra waiting for him!
Random stuff, when Punisher went to buy a tactical police radio from that pawn shop guy, its like, yikes, why on Earth did that guy think Frank was someone he could sell child pr0n to?! Also, that seemed kinda rude in the first ep, when Josie gave the gang some pitchers of water because it was hot, and they tell Karen, "Don't drink that shit, her water's practically poisonous!"
