Arrow- Interesting, I wonder when this is taking place with respect to the Flash. I mean, last night's Flash seemed to imply there was a slight time jump. I assumed Felicity wasn't taking Barry's calls because she was morose over being in a wheelchair (although that didn't seem to mesh with Felicity's attitude on Arrow, she wasn't really wallowing much) but maybe she was upset over Barry knowing about Ollie's son and keeping mum? In either case, did the missing person case happen between the time between getting back from Earth-2 and King Shark, or did it happen after yesterday's ep?
Anyways, I'm glad they didn't actually drag out the son thing, Darhk pretty much confronted Ollie about it (in front of Felicity) in the first few minutes of the ep. And what the shit, I wasn't sure if Darhk knew Ollie was the Arrow, but they for sure made it clear he doesn't, which is freaking insane. Like it totally threw me for a loop that Dahrk was all, "Oh, so Ollie sent his friend after me!" to Green Arrow.
Obviously, Felicity is mad that he kept his son a secret, and even madder when the list of people who knew grew (Damien, Thea, Barry, Malcolm- which what a dick, when Thea asks if he was the one who told Damien, he flat out lies and is all, "How could you do think I could do such a thing!" Asshole!). Laurel is also rightfully mad. Yes, they're not an item, but he knocked Samantha up while he was going out with Laurel. She knew he was a cheating asshole back then, but the son thing makes it more real, makes it hurt more.
So, since Dahrk has magical powers, they figure they need magical backup. They name drop Constantine, but Ollie is all, "Naw, he's in hell. Literal hell!" Which, I know they live in a world of magic and metahumans and alternate dimensions, but you'd think hearing that hell actually exists would warrant one of the others being all, "Wait, hell is a real thing?" So, they turn to Vixen.
I had heard Vixen had a short animated series on CW seed, I just haven't gotten a chance to catch it yet. Apparently besides Ollie, she knows Barry and Laurel? But ugh, Ollie saying they had an animated encounter? Ill, corny!
Obviously, they hit hiccups in their attempt to get William back. Oliver acquiesces to Darhk's demand that he drop out of the mayor's race and endorse his wife, but he's worried because he gave himself up for the others during Christmas, and Darhk still almost killed them anyways.
But, Dahrk talking about Vixen's totem makes her realize he might be getting his powers from a totem too. They figure out what it is since Detective Lance had seen Damien around a weird object. He describes it to her, and the gang hits his mansion to take him down. She manages to steal it, and you'd think Dahrk would be a little more concerned instead of being all, "Well, that happened!" Its like the source of his magical powers, you'd think he'd go after her rather than trying to choke out Ollie, Laurel and Thea.
So Vixen destroys his idol, and he loses his powers, and Ollie is able to capture him. He escapes of course, but I guess he doesn't have his magic anymore. But at least they rescue William. More corniness though- William is all, "I don't need my Flash action figure anymore, I want a Green Arrow one!" Ollie sends him away for his safety, giving Samantha a recording to be given to him after his 18th b-day revealing he's his father and the Green Arrow. Hope no one else accidentally sees it!
In the end, Felicity calls their engagement off, citing while she gets Samantha put him an impossible position, and Samantha tries to take the blame, Ollie still didn't choose Felicity. Marriage should be a partnership, but he doesn't seem to be willing to lean on her for support, he wants to do everything alone. Heh, of course, the stress finally causes the Terrific chip to kick in- so she can walk again. And she walks right out the door!
