Mar. 4th, 2003 04:55 amJust another night at work, watching some MTV and ytalking my bratty sister right now. (Who should got to sleep since she has work in 5 hours!) They're ventilating this room right now since supposedly the glue fumes from the floor work they're doing were very strong. I didn't smell anything when I went to work, but my sense of smell sucks. I'm prolly getting as high as a kite right now. I also need a shave and a haircut.
Anyways, what does it mean to find oneself? You know, like when people need to define their life apart from you? Or they tell you they'll never get stronger if you're always around to protect them, so they have to strike out on their own and experience the world on their own? It sounds logical. Though it does freak out the person being left behind even though there's the implication that they'll be back. I guess its because "finding what's missing" is such a vague concept. Its like, how strong is strong enough?
Dang, have a morning meeting at 7am. Not that I've been sleeping before 9am these days.

Date: 2003-03-04 11:06 pm (UTC)I was more talking hypothetically. But yeah, its always hard to let go of someone you care about. And it just seems weird in that situation, because they leave because you care about them too much, that you're overprotecting them and end up stunting them. And while you want them to be happy, you do worry about what will happen during their journey. I think part of the worry is the dangers they'll encounter, but then there's the whole paranoia of not being needed anymore.
