Just another night at work, watching some MTV and ytalking my bratty sister right now. (Who should got to sleep since she has work in 5 hours!) They're ventilating this room right now since supposedly the glue fumes from the floor work they're doing were very strong. I didn't smell anything when I went to work, but my sense of smell sucks. I'm prolly getting as high as a kite right now. I also need a shave and a haircut.

Anyways, what does it mean to find oneself? You know, like when people need to define their life apart from you? Or they tell you they'll never get stronger if you're always around to protect them, so they have to strike out on their own and experience the world on their own? It sounds logical. Though it does freak out the person being left behind even though there's the implication that they'll be back. I guess its because "finding what's missing" is such a vague concept. Its like, how strong is strong enough?

Dang, have a morning meeting at 7am. Not that I've been sleeping before 9am these days.

Finding oneself? Not sure. I'm still trying to figure that out...

From an older sibling's point of view.. it's hard to let go of your younger siblings - cos you want to protect 'em from the world and all the bad crap that's out there. I guess that could account from anyone's point of view...

Heh, that second paragraph was actually a non-sequitur. Oops, I didn't intend for people to think that I was referring to my sis in the second paragraph. Not that she's even my real sister, but I digress.

I was more talking hypothetically. But yeah, its always hard to let go of someone you care about. And it just seems weird in that situation, because they leave because you care about them too much, that you're overprotecting them and end up stunting them. And while you want them to be happy, you do worry about what will happen during their journey. I think part of the worry is the dangers they'll encounter, but then there's the whole paranoia of not being needed anymore.

that's always a possiblity [but I think a doubtful one about not being needed anymore]. More often than not, they just want to see what's out there..for themselves and learn from their experiences instead of from warned experiences [from others].

Oh, heh.. no worries. I was thinking about this from my older siblings' views..and Allen's views on his siblings.
