SVU- Heh, even though I watch a lot of SVU, its kinda bad that I totally didn't realize the red headed ADA was a recurring character at first. I mean, I did not recall her at all, but she's apparently been in nearly a half dozen eps before this (as that same character), whoops! There were some iffy things in this ep though. Like had the scene in the beginning been the main case, I don't things would've gone as smoothly. I mean, the boxer guy did think the UC was under 16, and gave her alcohol, took risque pics of her, and was about to try and engage in sex acts with her, but with Rollins being there, I think Susie from CYE could've pressed on with the entrapment thing. There were a couple of times when it seemed like he was looking to Rollins for prompting and didn't continue until Rollins said it was okay to her niece.
I mean, that doesn't make it right (or legal), because again he knew she was under age, and the whole "Oh, I was just trying to catch Rollins pimping out her niece!" was a ridiculous story. But like I said, had this been the main case, Susie would've prolly taken it to trial and used that. Like I think they've done this exact kinda defense before, and it tripped SVU up because their evidence to the contrary was thin. I would've like it better if they had a little more evidence on him, like they had accusations before (though I guess if they did, then the ep couldn't have ended like it did), instead of just claiming they had him dead to rights.
And then with Pippa in the apartment. Heh, I know SVU was trying to show the guy some courtesy since he's deputy commissioner, and they tried to make less of a scene outside the building, but she knows they're SVU, and she's an advocate for children, I'm surprised her mind wasn't racing at the possibilities of them showing up and being all mysterious. But beyond that, I know they have a working relationship with Pippa and seem on friendly terms, but they didn't know the extent the case at that point. I'm surprised IAB guy let Benson have five minutes to help Pippa pack her family up, she could've tampered with evidence, grabbed and hid stuff in her bag! Though I guess she and Carisi prolly made sure they watched her the whole time.
Its interesting they were all, her whole job is helping abused children, she really didn't know? I mean, that could be the whole point, because that was her thing, her husband could've picked up on the exact things he needed to do to hide that stuff from her.
Also interesting how the guy didn't see the disconnect between him looking at such images, but also being disgusted by the people who make them and would turn them in in a heartbeat if he had heard of someone doing that to a child. Like Barba said, dude, what you're watching are literally crime scene photos!
