Elementary- Huh, I totally missed that was a thing. Like, they gave a refresher on the previouslies about Sherlock giving autistic computer girl that book, but I totally didn't realize it was because he had a thing for her. Hey, Fiona's cute, I've always liked her on her various stints on the various Law and Orders.
Vampire Diaries- You know, since Friday night is a light night anyways, I should really just wait instead of watching it early. I mean, I do still watch the live showing, so technically there's no impact to their advertising. However, I noticed last night's Legends of Tomorrow was available as early as the 8th?! What the frick?! Mondays and Tuesday are already so G-D packed, one of those shows can't leak early, as opposed to the shows that are on when there's no competition on my schedule!
So Stefan finally finds out about Elena, after trying to save his brother from his latest self destructive spiral. Surprisingly, he directs his anger towards a worthy target. Its all Julian's fault- he corrupted his mother away from her sons, he broke up Stefan and Valerie and caused her to miscarry their son, he's the one who sent Damon into the Phoenix Stone and in turn caused Damon to go crazy and accidentally kill Elena.
Like I'm totally shocked they resolved this in this ep, but yeah, Valerie cloaks she and Stefan and Julian (that cloaking spell is a handy little assassination tool) so Stefan can slit Julian's throat and stake him all without his followers seeing it so they can get away without getting killed.
Meanwhile, turns out Alaric and Jo's twins are siphoners, and they've apparently been slowly killing Caroline by sucking the magic out of her blood. So, she's slowly dessicating. Which would be troublesome if we didn't already know she's fine in the future.
Also, in Damon's rush to get himself killed via Julian's pitfights, some random chick helps Damon out. Who is she? She's not the vampire huntress chasing them all down.
Which speaking of, with the actual vampire huntress Rayna sending those creepy letters (are they really letters if it just has a big red X on it?), Noralise and Bonnie team up to find her. Heh, Mary Louise is totally jealous of Bonnie, and indeed, Nora is playing it up. But aw, Bonnora really are friends if Bonnie recognizes that Nora's totally trying to make Mary Lou jealous and advises her to go get back her girl.
So Bonnie is left alone with the seemingly old and invalid Rayna in a hospital bed. At first Bonnie thinks they got the spell wrong, but it turns out Rayna isn't as helpless as she seems. She grabs Bonnie and is strong enough to try and crush her throat if Bonnie doesn't magically undo her restraints. But Enzo shows up to save the day, tossing a knife into Rayna's throat and killing her. So it seemed like they ended Bonora just in time to start the Bonenzo relationship we see in the future. Only, when Bonnie comes back with Nora and ML, Enzo has absconded with the body.
The body ends up burning and from the ashes (like a Phoenix, hey, I guess its a theme) rises a hot young version of Rayna. Who we indeed see is definitely the one chasing them down in the future, as we see her in the control room of the studio in the flash forward. Which, this stuff is very curious. Remember, when we last saw Enzo, he was being taken away by some men. Matt refers to them as a "shadowy organization". Could they be followers of Rayna? If so, what did they do to get Enzo to help them?
Other stuff, Matt explains away the stakes and other weapons in the back of his truck as stuff he confiscated from the zombie fans wandering around MF. But, Penny's skeptical, so when she releases him, she secretly follows him and see him kill a vamp. And so he tells Penny all about the world of the supernatural. She asks why he stays, and he says he doesn't have anything better to do. He doesn't speak to his parents, Vicki's dead, his "friends" are a bunch of supernatural freaks. All he has left is the town, and fighting to protect that gives him something. Plus, he tells her once you know about the supernatural, you can't just go back to sleep and do nothing.
