TV commentary:

The 100- Finally caught up on this show. The second season finale was kinda insane. I totally disagree with Lexa taking the deal, but I can see why she did. After all, the alliance between the Sky People and the Grounders was very tentative, the majority of her people didn't even like it. They could have easily taken the Mountain, but prolly with heavy casualties. Plus, they lost contact with Bellamy, so for all she knew the Mountain Men could've had her people under a gun and would kill them all just to spite them.

So it was basically, a guarantee she would get all her people back, vs getting some of her people back and her people being resentful that they had the chance to get everyone, but sacrificed some so they could free the Sky People too. Of course, they wouldn't have gotten that far without the Sky People, so its totally a dick move. Also, I thought part of the reason they got the alliance was because the Sky People could cure the Reapers. Or rather, they had the technology to keep the Reapers alive as they went through withdrawal. Though I suppose their thinking was, now that they know withdrawal is survivable, they just had to restrain their people and revive them if they did go into cardiac arrest using techniques they've observed from the Sky People?

But like I said, its kinda dishonorable since she broke her deal with the Sky People. So at the point, she's already shown she'll break deals when convenient, so once her people were out of there, why not just break the agreement with the Mountain Men, what can they do at that point. And its not like her reputation would be impugned any further.

Still, I don't think Clarke and Bellamy should feel too bad, Cage is the g-d maniac who forced their hand. Actually, all the Mountain Men were insane. I don't care if the delinquents were murderers who already killed some of their people, there's a difference between getting justice and using people like cattle for their marrow and tossing them out like garbage. I mean, I guess their morality was already compromised if they were willing to bleed the Grounders to stay alive. But even then, the Grounders were at least scary strangers who they could dehumanize. But they spent time with the delinquents, ate food with them, spent leisure time with them.

But I digress, he knew they had control of the control room. He had to know Clarke would follow through on her threat, she had just executed his father as proof she's willing to go the distance. But knowing she could see everything going on, he had to know they saw Emerson coming for them, plus, he purposely put Abby on the table out of revenge. I guess he couldn't know Octavia and Maya had just been caught and surrounded. After doing all that, why the frick would he think they wouldn't actually irradiate the place?!

It does suck for Maya (and that one guard who snuck Jasper in), but at least she was cool with it, seeing it as penance for what her people had done. I mean, she could've survived though. Like Octavia said, they could get her to the airlock. Maya was all, "So I'd be in a cage?" I mean, she didn't know, but Kane was willing to make a deal, and have his people volunteer marrow to help them out. So they could've given her treatments without killing anyone.

Which, when Kane made that offer, Cage was an idiot for not slowing down and trying to negotiate. I guess he thought it was too late. But by not trying to negotiate, it was definitely too late... for his own people! Though even before that point, how the hell where they going to survive even if they could make it to the surface? The acid fog was destroyed. And I guess they still had missiles. But even if they weren't underground anymore, they'd still be confined to their little patch of land, since beyond that would've been a bunch of pissed off Grounders and Sky People who would be looking to kill them for their sins.

I guess it was just poor decisions all around.
