The 100- Finally up to that episode. Its interesting, because I bet when the ep first came out, a lot of viewers weren't expecting them to actually kill Finn. They try to make you feel sorry for him by showing he wasn't even the one who actually spacewalked, that he was covering for Raven. BUT, it wasn't Raven's idea for the spacewalk! He felt sorry because they thought she wasn't going to be able to be a zero-G mechanic because of her heart murmur, so he arranged the space walk for her.
He "takes" the blame by pretending he was the one who actually spacewalker, because she was 18 and would be floated otherwise. But while he technically wasn't the one who actually spacewalked, it was still his freaking idea! She never would've spacewalked if he didn't set it up for her. So when it comes down to it, he's still the one responsible!
And its weird that they try to set him up as this loving boyfriend, willing to go to jail for his girlfriend to save her life, but as soon as he got sent to Earth, he forgot all about her and tried to get with Clarke! He possibly would never see her again, but its not like she was dead yet!
Also, while Murphy is a dick, and a premeditated murderer, I will say, I actually do feel a little sorry for him. Like, I am in no way excusing his behavior, because even though he had a hard life, so did a lot of other delinquents. And not all of them tried to murder Wells. And then after that, murder the guys who tried to hang when they thought he was the one who killed Wells. Then he shot Raven when he took Jasper hostage when he caught him killing that one guy.
But if you're going to shit on him, shit on him for that stuff. Clarke getting angry at him for not trying hard enough to stop him, like the only way he could've done that would prolly be to seriously injure or hurt Finn because he was so distraught, and obviously she wouldn't have wanted that. And Raven trying to turn Murphy in instead to get punished for what Finn did was incredibly fucked up. Its dishonorable! Yes, Murphy killed people and basically faced no consequences from it, but trying to make him pay for Finn's crimes is hypocritical. They both should face punishment, Finn shouldn't be absolved just because people like him more.
Of course, Raven did have some pretty crazy ideas this ep. Like she gave Clarke a knife to try and kill Lexa and rescue Finn in the chaos. Is she insane? Clarke and Finn would die pretty much immediately, and then the rest of them would all be slaughtered. I know she cares about Finn, but that was a really stupid idea.
Heh, its funny, because people were making terrible comparisons the whole time. Like when Kane and Jaha and Abby were talking about turning Finn in would be tantamount to killing him, and how is that any different from condemning the 100 to Earth. Well, the difference is, turning Finn in will 100% lead to his death. Even if they were very skeptical Earth was survivable when they sent the 100 down, they still had a slight hope they would possibly survive!
And then Clarke trying to exchange her life for Finn's saying its soaked in Grounder blood. But at least everyone she killed was in righteous combat. This whole thing was about justice for the innocent. The people at the village were the young, and the old and infirmed. He herded them into a pen and butchered 18 of them.
Its sad, but there was no other way out of things besides Finn's death.
