TV commentary:
Criminal Minds- Wow, really good ep! Heh, it was a pretty interesting to see Aubrey Plaza in a role like this. Heh, I also have mixed emotions. Like on SVU, I was elated that they smoked that rat faced punk holding Benson and that family hostage. Maybe it is gender bias, and its because Aubrey is a cute girl, but I do feel kinda bad for her.
I mean, at the very least Reid did try to find her dad. But since they failed, he and Morgan did a pretty good job of playing her in the end. Like she actually gave up because she thought she was finally going to get the closure she had been seeking for all these years. But unfortunately, they did manage to fool her, so she actually did seem pretty devastated at the deception.
But at the same time, I guess its sour grapes and all, wanting to find any reason to claim she really won by mocking Reid- even if it takes her decades to get out (I would think a high hit count hitwoman would never get out), she'll remember him, but he won't remember her because of the Alzheimer's or dementia or whatever Reid likely has. Heh, I mean, she is an evil hit woman, but taunting someone with the fact that they'll eventually develop a disease that will ravage their mind is below the belt.
Anyways, yeah, I loved the Cat (heh!) and mouse in this. Although I'm slightly disappointed in this "network". Like there's only 4 (well, 5 including the guy who started it all), not counting their hacker, who was pretty much under duress anyways. I mean, I guess they had to keep it small other wise it would be an insurmountable opponent and they'd never be able to protect Penelope. And while these guys did seem to have skillz, 6 is hardly a network!
Of course, another thing I was skeptical about is, if they really were hunting Penelope down, no way they wouldn't know everyone in the BAU by sight. She should have known immediately who Reid was. I mean, Reid says in the ep she should've seen right through him, but since she's committed to killing guys like her dad, she had to see this one through just in case he wasn't a fed and fit her victimology. But that was more him saying she should've suspected he was a fed from his mannerisms as opposed to "Holy crap, that's Agent Reid, one of the close friends and confidantes of the lady we're trying to kill!"
So yeah, I think Cat and the bomber chick should have both been able to pick out the whole team in the crowd if they were serious about trying to take out Garcia. They're supposed to be very though, so I think any workup of Garcia would flag everyone on the team. It would've been a nice touch if they didn't recognize Tara since she was the newest member of the team, but that's kinda negated since she was pretending to be on a date with Morgan the whole time, so they would've recognized him.
