Saw the final Hunger Games today. Heh, one of the trailers before the movie was this horror film called, "The Boy" starring Maggie from the Walking Dead. And whatever, I thought it was a pretty creepy trailer, like I was thinking, the trailer alone would cause children nightmares. Also, the trailer for the third Divergent movie. I will say, I haven't seen the first two, and it didn't seem all interesting to me, but the trailer for the third movie actually looks like something I'd watch.

Anyways, onto the movie. I was spoiled for a lot of plot points of the movie, but then I realized I didn't know when certain things would happen, so it was very harrowing. Really, its kinda my nightmare scenario for a movie. Like they were basically going into a crazy maze of traps and monsters, and I knew certain characters were going to die, and horribly, but not when. Like they say, the anticipation of death is often scarier than death itself, so I was kinda on the edge of my seat the whole time, not knowing when this is when someone bites it.

Like I knew Finnick was going to die. And really, why the EFF did he go on that mission?! He just got married to his pregnant lover! I know they thought it was supposed to be a PR mission, but still! And I knew Primrose was going to bite it in the capital. But wow, they really had to go heavy to eliminate Gale as an object of Katniss' affections. Like he had come up with the idea of blowing something up, waiting, and then blowing up the responders earlier in the movie, and Katniss is justifiably horrified. But then his plan was used by Coin to garner sympathy and frame the Capitol, killing Prim in the process? Like geez, wow, did they really have to have Katniss hate Gale like that to resolve the triangle?!

TV commentary:

Jessica Jones- Almost through the series, just a couple of eps left. And damn. I kinda thought Jessica was going to be able to vindicate Hope in the end. I did not see Hope killing herself so Jessica would stop holding back when it came to Kilgrave.

Also, like I said last post, I said it was weird Simpson was Nuke, but even weirder, I actually didn't realize they would fully go into his story. It seemed a little jarring. Like, "Oh, btw, this random cop guy they meet was in some top secret super soldier experiment!" Not that that's an unbelievable premise in the MCU. It was just really unexpected because it didn't seem like they were going there with his character, and then they did.

But what the hell, Jeri?! What did she think she was going to accomplish sabotaging the electroshock thingie? Hell, I think at this point she's incredibly culpable for everything Kilgrave did from his escape onward.

Also, Jessica's neighbor. Though I do think that whole plot line was incredibly clunky. I think they could've come up with another way for Robyn to accidentally free Kilgrave than that. I mean, I guess she needed riled up ex-victims to help her overpower Jessica in her apartment, but the way she found out about things was a little nonsensical.

I mean, if they were meeting in a private room for their little group, sure. But they were in the middle of the diner, with non-group people within ear shot. And he's all, oh, btw, Kilgrave made this poor guy kill himself in Jess' apartment, so I disposed of the body! And even if they were all speaking privately, that's still an insane thing to admit to. Yes, they know what Kilgrave can do, and he's made some of them do horrible things. But Malcolm getting rid of a body on his own to help Jessica might be a little out there for everyone else!
