Oct. 29th, 2015 08:37 amWas in training this week, so I'm a little behind on postage.
TV commentary:
Finding Carter- Wow, Carter is naive. So, she ends up kissing her boss, and in the end she decides to tell him the truth about her age because she doesn't want to start a relationship on a lie. Her boss justifiably freaks out. And she's all, "So I'm 4 years younger than I thought, so what?!" Well, for one, them getting together could be illegal in their state, depending on the age of consent laws. But nothing's happened yet, so he doesn't have to worry about that.
But he does have to worry about hiring a minor to work at a bar and serving said minor alcohol. I get she thinks she's all mature because of her crazy life. But in the eyes of the law, she's still a minor. She totally screwed her boss over= if anyone ever found out about her working at the bar, much less about them kissing, he'd be in deep shit. And her mom is a cop! She might not be so understanding and can totally railroad him.
Arrow- I have my suspicions. That the grave his Detective Lance's. Like I said before, I'm 95% sure its not Felicity's (even though they purposely filmed things to make you worry it was), because I don't care what Flash had going on, he would NEVER have been late for Felicty's funeral.
But yeah, heh, Ollie randomly finds out that Lance is working with Damien (or at least talking to him), and he's pretty pissed. He always held Lance up as this paragon of righteousness, which is why he always took all the shit Lance threw at him. Like Oliver's whole thing was that he'd one day earn his respect and see him as a good guy. So finding out he was working with Dahrk crushed him, because if even Detective Lance can be bad, then where are the real heroes?
In the end though, Lance apologizes, and says he'll turn himself in, but Ollie's forgiven him at this point, and tells him not to. They can use him as a mole! Which I think will totally get him killed, and thus fill Oliver with guilt.
Also, I'm guessing Tara from True Blood will be back at some point, since she shares her name with "Lady Cop". The only problem I have with her redemptive arc is she killed those two undercover cops. I get that they wanted to show that she and her men meant business and really were bad guys, but I think there were missteps in that portrayal. Like I actually do see the difference (or rather what she thought was a difference) she was trying to explain- killing the two UCs, it was battle. But she's not going to go after and murder Lance because he knows who they are and what they're up to. Or rather, it seems like she would only do that if he was trying to capture her and she had no choice. But she still just killed two good guys (well, most likely good).
Like I think it would've been better if her team was robbing the drug dealers of money and destroying the drugs instead of stealing the drugs and selling them back. Because that still has the drugs out on the street ruining lives. But I guess they had to do that scenario to have a plausible reason for Thea to go back to the club and get the social bug to motivate her to help with his campaign while at the same time presenting themselves as a target to be robbed. Like Lance could leak there was a random shipment of drugs somewhere, but he couldn't be all, "there's this van of money out there!"
But cool, they're bring in Constantine next week to fix Sara, possibly put her soul back in her body or something? Its kinda cool that they got him. Like, I didn't think the show was all the great, but I think he played the role well.
Supernatural- Interesting tidbit. So this was basically a filler ep. But the thing to take away is that even though the big bad this season is called the Darkness, even the other monsters are afraid of it. I mean, we knew from the stuff with Crowley that Amara is obviously not on their side, but it does seem like the general consensus by the other things that go bump in the night is that the darkness is no friend.
