Finding Carter- Okay, the crazy amount of Insidious product placement was hilarious! But, crazy episode! So Max and Carter are wracked with guilt over their indiscretion. They think they find their opportunity when a messenger delivers "financial agreement" papers as part of Liz and David's trial separation. Taylor is feeling all sad about it, so Carter is all, "Let's go to Gammy's lake house!" and conveniently enough Taylor asks if Max can come. Unfortunately, he tells his roommate so the regular gang (minus Ofe, who's still sad about Taylor, but apparently Damon is part of the crew now) ends up inviting themselves, throwing a wrench in Max and Carter's plans. They can't tell her on the trip now, because it will be incredibly awkward with everyone around.
Anyways, Carter is feeling ultra guilty, so she finally confesses to Madison, who in turn was trying to confess to her about being in contact with Lori because Bird urged her to. And apparently the gang are freaking geniuses, because when Madison tells Bird she couldn't do it and Bird questions her why, she somehow guesses its because Carter's mind is occupied with having slept with Max.
And then when Bird, Madison, Damon, and Gabe are talking later, with Gabe all sad because his dad is really into Elizabeth, but he can see that its not going to work out, because unlike his dad, he's not freaking blind. So it really sucks to know his dad is going to get crushed. He wants to talk to Taylor about it because all of sudden this episode is all, Gabe really cares for Taylor. When did that happen? I mean, they were sort of friends when the show started, but it seemed to me more, she had a crush on him and he liked the attention. But yeah, the girls try to get Gabe to not, and when he asks why, he and Damon also guess that Max slept with Carter. Its kinda crazy that they were able to make such leaps.
Anyways. the gang knows, but Carter and Max don't know they know, and Taylor is painfully oblivious. Gabe, who was kinda projecting his father's relationship troubles on the whole situation thinks Taylor should know, but Damon thinks its not their place, and its just going to hurt her. After some more Insidious product placement (they can't wait to see Insidious 3!) The group sans Max, Carter, and Gabe decide to go for a night swim. Which is ruined when a fuming Gabe tries to confront Max, and then gets into a fight with Damon when he tries to stop him. Gabe ends up slipping and hitting his head.
Taylor is all confused, but Max and Carter figures out everyone knows. Since Taylor went off to tend to Gabe, and the others say, he's prolly telling Taylor right now, Max goes to stop it. Meanwhile Madison finally confesses to Carter about being in contact with Lori and Lori tricking her into trying to draw Carter away. Carter is kinda pissed, particularly when Madison tries to compare the situation to Carter sleeping with Max, and also because she figures out Madison was who Lori was on the phone with in the motel room in the season premiere. She's kinda mad that Madison didn't call the police, and while I didn't trust Madison in the beginning, I do see where she's coming from.
As Madison said, she was kinda desperate- her parents had thrown her out on the street for being a lesbian, and Lori took her in. Carter shouldn't fault her for sticking with Lori and believing her lies, when she had no one else. So Carter is mad at her.
In any case, Gabe chickens out of telling Taylor, because he realizes its not his secret to tell and he would only be hurting her. So Max tries to have the talk, but Taylor apologizes for sleeping with Ofe, and then asks if Max ever slept with Bird. Max is so thrown that that's what she was worried about that he's all, of course he didn't, they're just friends/roommates. But then Taylor is all, "Whew, because if you did, I would go fucking crazy!" So ha, Max chickens out too.
In the end, as the gang goes home, Taylor finds Carter's necklace in the back of Max's truck, and because again, these kids have like insane powers of production, she somehow suspects they slept together. Which, what the shit, she knows Max took Carter to see Lori. There's all sorts of reasons why that necklace could've come up in that truck.
I guess Taylor finds out the beginning of next ep, according to the preview (more on the preview later).
But yeah, other stuff in the ep? David and Liz continue to dance around each other unable to decide whether they still love each other or not and leading their TA and partner, respectively, on. Kyle is still deluded, but when Hilary decides to have a drink with Liz when she comes over to drop some papers off for David, listening to Liz fondly describe David fixing her necklace, Hilary kinda realizes David and Liz are still a thing. Even if they don't realize it.
But yeah, according to the previews, I guess Crash is back? And since his uncle got away, I'm guessing the cops try to use Crash to get to him. We see Liz over a body, looking at it sadly, and holding its bloody hand in her own hand. I'm guessing its either Crash or Kyle?
