Backstrom- That was a weird and dark episode. Like what the hell was up with them constantly saying, "We need to find this girl, she's prolly being raped to death right now!" Are they trying to be edgier than SVU by being all blunt about it?
Also, why the hell did they just grab the culprit? I mean, I know why, it was so they could do the whole prayer circle thing and President Palmer's church would be saved. But otherwise, it was weird that they just arrested him then and there when they didn't know where the girl was. Like, it did not seem like there was any danger of the guy fleeing, or that he even knew they were on to him. Don't they normally sit on a guy like this to see if he lead them to the victim?
Elementary- I thought this was an interesting case. And not because it involved Alicia Witt. But that was kinda an interesting plan, killing people to make it look like they were angry over the net worth compensation vs fixed sum, and Alicia Witt seeming like she'd be paid more with the former, but she actually makes more with the latter, so she forced the issue.
Though I'm trying to remember previous eps, where they ever this overt in showing what the bad guy was doing? Like if its an ep where there's an obvious suspect, you know they're the perpetrator, but I didn't think they normally showed them committing the crimes. Like part of the mystery was figuring out the how and why. And this one, they pretty much revealed the how from the start. But the why was also kinda obvious. I mean, you knew she wanted the lump sum over the particular worth, so it was pretty clear that something was wrong with her husband that was cause her to get a low payout if they want the worth route.
