Castle- Hmm, that was a bit of a surprise. So Castle got fired. Why? Because the case involved mafiosos, and he had been using mafia contacts to help crack the case. Or rather former mafia contact he reached out to insisted Castle help solve what happened, to satisfy their curiosity as much as the polices. And they do, its this whole Romeo and Juliet thing and a crooked cop trying to muscle in on the mob. Also, Cyber Rita was kinda an entertaining character, I don't think I've seen a hacker/NY Eye-talian chick combo. Fun! It would be cool if they could utilize her help every so often with computer stuff Tory wouldn't legally be allowed to do.
Unfortunately, while things work out great for Romeo and Juliet, crooked cop guy is whacked on his way to booking. When the DA gets word of the case, and how Castle had mob associates, he's called the Mayor, and as such, Castle is no longer permitted to work with the NYPD. And ha, right before Beckett gives her poem for the Castle annual Christmas card (its a family tradition!) talking about how she loves their partnership and stuff. As such, he doesn't reveal to her he's been let go.
But heh, while Shandy shippers may have been happy about last night's ep, Esplainie shippers were prolly sad. So Javi and Lanie fake being engaged for the sake of her parents, whom she lied to. (Heh, they weren't mad he didn't ask his permission?) And all that time pretending made him realize something- unfortunately not that he wants to be with her. I mean, they love each other very much, but not in that way. And they both want the other to have what her parents have, what Caskett have, what Ryan and Jenny have. So, looks like their dunzo.
