geebsPicked up Tara at her place last night and we headed over to Chris's neck of the woods to see the new Bond flick with Chris and his sister Allison. I did feel bad that Tara was the one who drove from her place to Chris's. Though she did insist after hearing the stories about riding with me behind the wheel. But still, it was ungentlemanly of me. Of course, that's also a bit chauvanistic. I mean, should it really matter if the guy or girl drives? But I digress.
We tried to have dinner at Ipps, but of course, like most places on a Friday night, it was really busy. We considered going to the chinese place next door, but we were suspicious since it was practically empty. Ended up going to On the Border, as it had a reasonable wait time. There were three people with birthdays while we there. I was skeptical! And "On the Border" surely has the loudest birthday ritual ever. Loud whistling, banging on the walls, etc. I looked over while they were doing their thing and saw a couple of tables with old people looking all "you crazy punks! Keep it down!"
Die Another Day was pretty awesome. Action packed, lots of big explosions. I think it succeeded in being more "extreme" than XXX. Halle Berry has a tight bod! And the Frosty chick was hot too. If there was anything negative to say, it would be that the director was trying to be a little too artsy with the fancy slow motion, blowing wind shots. Oh, one of the trailers preceeding the movie was for Bulletproof Monk. I had heard early test screenings were disappointing, but the trailer looked cool enough. Chow Yun Fat is bad ass. Even had the two gun thing going.
