The Leftovers- Interesting! So we get a flashback to the town right before the great disappearance (or whatever the hell they call it) Kathy Geiss was a dog breeder, Patti was one of Laurie's patients (apparently she was a psychiatrist or psychologist?), Kevin's dad (who looks totally weird with a mustache) definitely seemed to have something going on with the mayor lady (at the very least we saw that start of something going on)

Heh, I'm amused their way to de-age Jill was just to give her braces and put her in overalls. And their way to date themelves was to have her giggle at Nyan Cat. (Also hilarious, Kevin just like staring at it later all, "WTF?!") Actually, I suppose they were also dating themselves with whatever song Jill was singing, but I actually couldn't pick up what she was singing. But interesting, so Kevin is not Tom's birth dad? And apparently his real dad is someone who did something bad to Laurie and him?

But yeah, wow, seeing what happened to the Garveys and Nora during the event, its easy why they were so effed up. Well the Garvey parents, I'm sure it was just only slightly shocking for Jill and Tom to be playing the circuit game during the science fair and have a couple of people just disappear, causing the light to go out.

So for Nora, it seems like she was an unhappy housewife, who just wanted a break. And wow, that must make her feel kinda guilty for them to disappear right as she's angry at all of them. Kevin, hilariously, was banging some random lady who had hit a rampaging deer he had been trying to take in alive. It seems obvious that Kevin and Laurie's marriage was already on the rocks even before the event. And like he just decides to bang this chick. And so she disappears as he's screwing her! HA!!

Laurie's story is the most effed up though. Apparently she was preggers, and was in the middle of an ultra-sound, when the baby in her womb disappeared. WTF, show?

The Strain- While I like that there's a little more action on this show, it seems like people do a lot of stupid things or don't act in a logical way in order for the plot to go the way the writers want. Like when Leslie Hope's husband comes home, and vamps attack, he jumps in the cab and tells the driver to drive off. But he does not, instead he just sits there dumbly all, "What is going on?" for like five minutes even though there are vampire zombies around his cab spitting their worm tongues out at the car window. I mean, he eventually does at least pull out a gun, but he foolishly shoots one in the head and keeps shooting it even though it did seem to go down, and he's using a revolver and he knows there's another creature out there. So he dies.

And then when Jim meets with the German in the middle of Grand Central Station in the hopes that they can follow him to the master, Thomas threatens him and Jim is all, "You do something to me, those cops over there will be on you in a second!" So what?!! He's a freaking vampire. The way he made short work of Gus and his friend, I believe he could be quick enough to take those cops out without the crowd even noticing.

But interesting, who are these mysterious vampire looking vampire hunters? I wonder what role they play, and will they be allies to the protagonists or not?
