True Blood- Heh, interesting. So after sending Hoyt off to Alaska a season or two ago, they're calling he and Jess endgame? Not that I have a problem with it, I guess its just a little weird because I'm not sure what changed between now and then for Hoyt to forgive her.
So basically, Brigitte asks Hoyt what was up with that red headed vampire girl from the night before. Because obviously she knows him, and she doesn't buy that Hoyt doesn't know her, because of course neither know about the whole compelling thing. So its all very sketch to her. He promises nothing's going on. So of course that's when Jess shows up at his door- between Bill refusing to cure himself and I guess partially inspired by Sam making a choice to get out of dodge and raise his kid in a safer place than Bon Temps, she decides to try and get Hoyt back. Or at the very least apologize and let him know what the hell is going on. Brigitte of course tells him, if he goes off with her, than he can forget about coming back.
Which is a bit unfair, because, Jess is offering to let him know why everything seems so off. How can he let that be. So she lets him know everything that happened, and he punches Jason after he comes when Brigitte called him saying Jess showed up and wondered what the hell was up with everything. He also lets her know the story, and says not to blame Hoyt- he really was not being shady, he just had no idea about all this because he had been glamered. He just says because of his memory loss, she fell for a guy who's heart unknowingly already belonged to another.
Again, I'm fine with a Hoyt/Jess endgame, it just seemed abrupt that they're back together- like I thought he fled to Alaska because he was so betrayed by both of them. Is it that he forgives Jess now because she apologized and said she was a fool back then? Is it that he's more willing to accept the apology because he's only been told about the betrayal, he doesn't get to feel the memories of it? In any case, Jason surprisingly does not bang Brigitte. She teaches him how to sleep together without having sex and is all, he's not a dog, the reason he is able to get all the girls because he's a sweetheart inside.
Anyways, so Bill refuses to cure himself because he knows he, or even Eric, can't provide any sort of good life for Sookie. So he's doing the whole he's bad for her, so he has to leave her for her sake. The reason he has to experience the true death to do this because if he just ran away, than Sookie would still hold a torch for him, unable to move on because he'd still be out there somewhere, and there's a possibility they could get back together. So nope, he has to let her know with finality that they're done.
Heh, this does I guess inspire Eric to acquiesce to Ginger's demand they eff when she shows up at Fangtasia, all pissed that he's back and cured. So he gives her what he wants, and hilariously, she comes almost immediately once he penetrates her.
But its not all fun and games for him. After that, he goes down to see the Yaks, who have Pam tied up and are about to stake her, in order to threaten him to figure out where he's been (he had been doing a favor for Bill to talk to Sookie to tell her to see Bill if he "called on her" so he can explain why he didn't want to be cured). He reveals he was with Sookie, but more importantly, answers their question if she knows about the cure. So he admits she does, and they're all, "What's her address?!"
Which, I'm thinking the next episode will begin with him slaughtering them all, because with the next ep being the last ep, and all the stuff seemingly going on in the previews, it doesn't seem like there'll be time for her to be in danger.
The Strain- This show has definitely gotten more interesting now that things are getting worse. Like its way past hunting down the passengers and their families- there's an eclipse (of course), so there were roving vamps killing people in the streets, so the number of infected prolly skyrocketed. But is that enough to wake people up?
Before the eclipse, people were skeptical. Eph tries to warn his wife to get out of town with their son, before her bf drops a dime on him and he gets arrested by the FBI. She talks with her friend to see if she should go- she wonders if his warning was some weird way to win her back by looking like this hero trying to save her. They finally decide that maybe she should go, but not because he warned her, but a little vacay to process everything going on between her and him and her current boyfriend. She implores her friend to go with her, but her friend is all, if he was being for real, she's a "Queens girl", they never leave.
Vasily ends up being forced to kill his coworkers (who somehow got infected) by exposing them to the sun. He also tries to warn his parents to get out- unfortunately, there's some bad blood there. His father wanted him to follow in his footsteps to be an architect, so the fact that he's a "rat-catcher" is a bit of a letdown. His father thinks the job made him a little crazy. So his dad remains unconvinced.
But yeah, this ep was full of people getting their world rocked. Gus was called upon by Eichorst to help Samwise get rid of a body. Gus was trying to say he was out, and then takes offense when Eichorst threatens his mom. And we finally witness the vampire guy's power. He is unfazed when Gus punches the crap out of him. Eichorst throws Gus across the room effortlessly, easily and quickly disarms his fat friend who had a gun, then does the whole lifting choke thing on Gus all, "I own your ass, you will do this!"
So he does, and his friend is totally freaked about the whole deal, with Eichorst being a "diablo", and looking in the bodybag Samwise had and seeing the worminess of the creature. He's talking with Gus about it on the streets when the eclipse happens, and they're randomly attacked by the dead medical examiner guy. Unfortunately, since they don't know how to deal with it, Gus smashes it in the back of his head, showering his friend with gore. And one of the worms enters him. Of course, they also get immediately arrested, because they're in a dark alley standing over a seeming corpse. So I guess Gus will end up being locked in a cell with his friend as he turns?
The FBI and Kelly's bf Matt are skeptical of all this. The former thinking Ephraim is some nutcase, and Matt thinking its some ploy to win Kelly back. There's an attack at Matt's work during the eclipse, and one of his co-workers is bitten, and it cuts away when he goes to confront the mysterious attackers. Meanwhile, the FBI just aren't listening to Eph as he tries to explain everything, so finally he's all, "I'll take you to the bodies!" hoping to get out of interrogation and lead them to some vamps so they're believe him.
Unfortunately, they're out in the streets when the eclipse happens. The medical examiner vamp is wandering around trying to attack people, and he pulls some lady in a car ahead of them out of her minivan. The younger feeb goes to help, while the other one is all, "Its not our problem!" What the shit, someone being attacked by a crazy person is not your problem. Younger FBI guy gets killed quickly, and then the older guy decides to intervene once his partner is attacked, so he dies too. So, Eph escapes to Setrakian's, where Nora is already there with her mom.
Abraham says he has a new plan! Guess we'll find out what it is next week!
