The Strain- Sometimes this show strains my credulity on the way they behave. I suppose its necessary for the plot, but some of these people are insane. Like I can sorta get the survivors not wanting to be quarantined when they felt fine at the time. But when they start having crazy headaches and start randomly bleeding or THEIR DICK FRIGGIN FALLS OFF, maybe they want to go back to the hospital and see what's wrong! (And ha, is that why the ep is called "Gone Smooth"? I thought it was because they were losing their hair!)
Like at least Jack's wife from 24 is one of those bitchy lawyer types, and vampire rocker dude is this giant arrogant douche, but that other survivor is a family man. He has a wife and kids, isn't he worried about infecting them?
But ha, the dialogue revealing why Samwise is on the take was slightly clunky. "Here's some money!" "I'm only taking this money because I love my wife, who has cancer!" I mean, they want to show he's not a corrupt jerk doing it only to get rich, but because he has a sick loved one. But it didn't gel with the normal flow of conversation. Well, I guess since that one guy isn't the person he's normally dealing with, maybe for some reason he wanted the guy to know because he for some reason cares that this random stranger knows he's really a nice guy trying to save his wife and not someone who's going to spend it on blow and hookers?
Also, this clerical error, did some poor cancer patient get bumped out of the trial to make room for his wife, or is she a 101st person and the records make it look like there are still just 100?
I'm also amused that Keamy's character hasn't really figured into the main plot yet. I mean, he's just a guy killing rats. And he knows that mass rat exodus can't be good. But he is totally unaware of the rest of the stuff the characters are privy to. And right now there's no reason for their paths to cross, so it will be interesting to see how they do.
But heh, random ridiculous thing I'm curious about that doesn't really matter in the scheme of things: So, the hacker girl Setrakian got to find the passenger manifest- did he happen to have a ps4 or whatever in his pawn shop, hacker girl saw it and wanted it and he was all, "the price is finding me the manifest!" Or was that her ps4 that she had to pawn at some point, and this is what she needed to do to get it back? Did he buy it for her in exchange for the manifest? Its just curious because his shop doesn't seem to be the kinda place that would have a video game console lying around.
I'm also curious, Goodweather's son, when he was all, "I just want him to have visitation weekends, because he has an important job to do" does he mean in general, or does he have "a feeling" about the current crisis that its something crazy and his father needs to figure it out right now? So, he's sorta bowing out so his father will have more time to work?
