Apr. 17th, 2014 10:25 amHmm, that new "Faking It" TV show looks interesting enough. A pair of cuties fake being in a lesbian relationship for popularity or something. Only one of them isn't faking it, and figures out she is an actual lesbian and is in love with her best friend. But I'm guessing this is a doomed ship and the other girl does not figure she too is a lesbian and they end up together for real. So its like, why bother if its prolly just going to be all sad, ship-wise.
TV commentary:
Fargo- Pretty interesting show, surprisingly more violent than I expected. Well, I guess the movie had someone being thrown into a wood chipper, so I suppose it shouldn't have been that surprising. Also weird, I guess its not a re-hash of the movie? I mean, it takes place in 2006, and none of the characters are the same. Is it just the feel of the movie (or book, I guess) they're trying to capture? So, Billy Bob Thornton's hitman character, I'm guessing him killing Watson's old high school nemesis, will have consequences for his hitman stuff? I mean, they randomly mentioned the bully was involved in organized crime. I'm guessing when he goes to his boss about this new job, him killing that guy will lead to some sort of issue?
Like, the organization he worked for might think it was a rival, horning in on their business and they might send Lorne to figure out who did it and send a message back, not knowing it was he himself who did it?
The Americans- Wow, when it rains it pours. So Lucia goes after Larrick, trying to tranq him so she can I guess torture him first? Unfortunately, he doesn't go down quickly, giving him time to overpower her and tranq her as well. And since he's bigger, he recovers first and ties her up. He calls up Elizabeth and says he'll do that last mission for them, but then he's free. She acquiesces, but alas, Lucia is hell bent on revenge, and tries to stab him with a corkscrew when they untie her.
Larrick again overpowers her, because he has a few inches and prolly 50-100 pounds on her, and is a trained Navy SEAL. He starts to choke her out and tells Elizbeth she'll keep on coming, throwing a huge wrench in their plans. So Elizabeth has no choice but to let him kill Lucia. Obviously, she's devastated.
As for Phillip, he's actually high on life, buying a new Camaro Z-28. Speaking of, I was talking with someone the other day how the Z28 was "affordable". I think doing research on the cost back then, it was mid-teen thousands? It couldn't have been too expensive, because the Jennings aren't rich-rich, I doubt Phillip would just buy a friggin sports car if they couldn't afford it. Like I would think Elizabeth would be hella pissed if it was over their budget. But yeah, Chevy is starting to re-release the Z-28 again this coming year. For 80K! That's friggin ridiculous! No offense to Chevy, but that's more than a BMW M3. Who the frick is going to pay eighty thousand for a Z-28?!
But I digress. He's pleased with his new purchase, until he learns a Russian sub sank due to the plans they stole. They think the US had honeypots like that, waiting to be stolen so the stealers would use them and get effed up. So, after that, he looks with disdain at this capitalist purchase. Indeed, they cut to a speech by Reagan, and Elizabeth being so angry at him and acting like he's this evil villain, which is always kinda weird when they villify America like that. But we are following the Russians on this show.
Interesting though, Oleg's dad told him it was actually them not doing the proper testing and red-ling the engine which lead to the accident. So I guess the KGB was taking the fall so as to not make a political embarrassment? Also interesting, they were bring up the stealth fighter and wanting to steal the tech. And this may stop that mission because the Russian government is worried it might be another trap. But I don't think the Russians ever got stealth technology. Like they stole a lot of other stuff, but not this. Are they going to use this as an excuse for why the Ruskies never experimented with similar stealth tech as ours?
NCIS- Hmm, some obvious reveals, but also some interesting twists! Like it was obvious the victim was going to be the one random Navy chick they already showed. But the fact that the dead guy was not killed by the rapist, but in a tragic accident was unexpected.
