TV commentary:

Continuum- This episode was a little more straight forward the previous ones. Pretty good twist there at the end though, even if its kinda insane. So it turns out the whole thing with Dillon's daughter was a long con to make her viable for recruitment by Liber8. I mean, while its sweet that she actually does love her dad and think he's awesome, what the frick is he thinking, sending in his daughter as a mole into a terrorist organization?

Especially when he's seen first hand how ruthless Liber8 can be! When Dillon got the jump on random Liber8 henchman, Travis show the guy himself! What does he think will happen to his daughter if they find out she's a traitor!?

OUAT- Aw, poor Hook. How deliciously cruel! So in the lost year, Hook meets up with Ariel. Apparently Prince Eric had been captured by the Jolly Roger, so of course Ariel went after Hook. But, it turns out the Jolly Roger was stolen by Blackbeard. (Was it because the ship was in Storybrooke when the original curse was undone, and when it got sent back to FTL, it was unattended, and Blackbeard was all, "Ooh, free ship!"?)

So Hook challenges Blackbeard to a duel and wins, but Blackbeard is all, if you kill me, you'll never learn where Eric is. But since the boat has become a metaphor for Emma and he's still heartbroken over the loss, he chooses the boat. So Ariel is kinda pissed because her only lead to her love is gone. He says he's doing her a favor because all love leads to loss and despair, and she tells him, no, being a heartless bastard who cares about no one is what leads to misery. She takes her leave to continue to find him.

In the present, Ariel shows up without her memories of the lost year, looking for Prince Eric. So, Hook is feeling super guilty upon seeing her, essentially screwing her over because he was sad over Emma. But, she doesn't remember meeting him! So anyways, circumstances force him to be the one helping her find him. They go to Gold's shop, because apparently everyone who was cursed has an item in there. There, Hook find's Eric's cloak (which he knows is Eric's because Ariel was wearing it when they met), lying that he only recognized it because he saw the sea-themed clasp, and is all, "Oh, you mentioned he was from a maritime kingdom!"

So, Belle casts a spell on it, and they follow it, where it goes to the docks and sinks into the water. Ariel thinks it means the sea took him and he's dead. So she's all, "At least I have closure!" and eventually guilt overwhelms him and he tells Ariel the truth. So again, she's pissed, and he says he'll do anything to make it up to her, that he'll help Ariel find him. She's all, how can she believe in someone who doesn't believe in love? So, if he's for real, she tells him to swear on the woman he loves, to say her name. So he's all, "I swear on Emma Swan!"

But, it turns out its all a trick. This Ariel who showed up in Storybrook is really Zelena in disguise. The real Ariel found Eric and they're back in FTL living happily ever after, too far to have been affected by the curse. By saying he loves Emma, Zelena uses that to curse hook- the next time he kisses Emma, her powers will be stolen away. And he threatens Hook to do the deed by threatening to kill everyone Emma loves if he doesn't.

So he's stuck. And ha, what's worse, everyone thinks he's this big hero, because he lies that they figured out where Eric was and Ariel left immediately and she's with him all happy. Emma has been training under Regina (more on that later), so as practice, she gets Emma to scry through a mirror to see how things went with Ariel. And since Ariel and Eric are indeed happy, they just see the couple frolicking on the beach. So he has to stand there, forced to keep mum and find a time to betray her, lest her loved ones be killed, all the while she's starting to think he's so great for re-uniting the couple.

Which, I'm glad for Ariel that Prince Eric is not dead. But since all the stuff in Storybrooke was fake, she prolly still hates Hook and has not gotten a chance to apologize for real.

But yeah, in other news. Regina knows she can't defeat Zelena, but since Emma is the savior and has all this untapped potential, she says she'll teach her how to harness that magic. And the whole thing is very Swan-Queeny. Like seriously, "Regina teaching Emma how to use her magic" sounds like the start of a fan-fiction.

Oh, but with Henry's moms doing magic (heh.) and Hook being fooled, Henry is being watched by the Charmings. And its hilarious how offended they were when Emma was hesitant to let them take care of him, because Snow's preggers, and it would be a little weird, because he doesn't know the Charmings are his grandparents, just that they're dorky friends of Emma. So they bribe him by letting him drive the truck and are all, "We're totally cool grandparents!"

In the end, the Charmings + Regina have dinner at Granny's, and its sweet that Regina gets to hang out with them now, like she's part of the family. Meanwhile, poor Hook says he can't join them, instead choosing to creep at Emma from across the street.
