Mar. 26th, 2014 05:04 pmSo went to a symposium for work today, it was at the Georgia Aquarium. It was on data center management, which made me realize in times like these that I actually like being in data center management. Which I guess is a good thing that I like what I do. Got some swag, which is always good. LED flashlight, and a cute bear in a leather jacket and flight googles and that funny hat pilots from WWII wore.
TV commentary:
NCIS- So, backdoor pilot for NCIS: NOLA. With Scott Bakula as their version of Gibbs, the dude from Tokyo Drift as his second, and the chick from the D&D movie who once played a female version of Quinn on Sliders (and was apparently on Dirty Sexy Money) as the new girl, who apparently worked on a top secret case with Gibbs once. And CCH Pounder as NOLA's version of Duckie.
POI- Ah, interesting. So we find out who Maria Martinez is, since she's the number of the week. At first the gang thinks she's a terrorist (Which, racist! I bet if she was actually Hispanic instead of Arab, their heads wouldn't have immediately went to "terrorist"!), but she's just trying to stop a guy she loves from being deported for suspicion of terrorism. Turns out, the guy she worked for re-routed some generators he made meant to rebuilt the infrastructure to Iraq for something else. Surprise, surprise, we find out he's in league with Decima and the generators are meant to power Samaritan.
Anyways, the gang clears her bf's name, prevent her from getting killed, so its a happy ending.
In the end, Root confronts Greer (which, its cool he keeps on coming up with countermeasures, while she and the machine keep figuring out ways around them, I like that race) And he says they should join up because they both know what's coming and the machines will be needed to bring order to this mysterious vague upcoming chaos.
Glee- So, the last of the Lima eps before they move full time to NY. I do feel sorry for the new kids, they didn't even get a really proper send-off in my opinion. Mostly I feel sorry for Kitty, because she was one of the legitimately nice new additions (and she's cute), and Jake, which, even though he's just Puck 2.0 and his storylines were lacking, he definitely had a lot of talent in the singing and dancing department- definitely the most talented of the new kids.
The ep starts with Holly and April in the teacher's lounge (even though they're not teachers!) playing fuck, marry, kill about Figgins, Will, and Brad the piano player. Holly would fuck Will, whereas April cheats by saying she would just get the effing Figgins over with, then she can marry Will and fuck him all the time. Sue happens upon their convo, and it turns out Holly and Sue are actually friends, planning to try and get on the Amazing Race together. She uses this friendship to get around Glee club being canceled by making one of the clubs more musical.
Tina's freaking out because she got rejected by Ohio state and hasn't heard from Brown. So her only hope is to try and get into some Jewish college in NYC so she can be with the rest of them. She accidentally gets hit in the head again and goes into one of her alternate reality fantasy worlds, were they're like the cast of Friends, complete with her as lead, doing the Friends intro with Rachel, Santana, Kurt, Blaine, and Artie.
In the cafeteria, Mercedes and Kurt have a fight over tots, saying that Mercedes liked it first, now Kurt is trying to steal it from her, and its a thinly veiled attempt to reconcile Rachel and Santana. To that end, they sing it out, doing "I Am Changing" from Dreamgirls:
At the end of the song, they "make up", hoping Rachel and Santana get the message. Rachel sees Santana in the bathroom afterwards and offers to let her do 10 shows of her choosing, but Santana is being spiteful about it, because supposedly that's just the way she is. She won't back down and won't rest until she's stolen Funny Girl from her.
The school apparently has an Animal Husbandry club, and Holly tries to hijack it for Glee Club, doing a rendition of Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time":
They have some neat 80s costumes, but the Animal Husbandry club is kinda pissed at the spectacle.
In the choir room. Brittany has filled it with Lilies (how "Imagine Me and You" of her) trying to get Santana to run away to Lesbos with her. She manages to straighten Santana out, asking her why the hell does she want Rachel's dream instead of following her own?
Tina finds out she didn't get into the Jewish college, because she's not a real Jew, but the boys convince her she should come to NYC anyways, like Kurt did and Sam plans to do, culminating in an acoustic piano version of "Loser Like Me":
In the auditorium, Santana apologizes to Rachel, telling her she quit being the understudy, not for Rachel, but for herself. They make up and do a duet of "Be Okay" by Oh Honey:
Mercedes and Kurt are pleased that their friends are friends again.
Anyways, Sue summons Holly to her office and shows her all the complaints she got from the Animal Husbandry club and their parents and 1 million moms (which she says there are only really 100,000 of them), so her little project is off. So, Holly goes to see Artie saying she needs him (the jerk misinterprets it and is almost about to break up with Kitty via text), so she can make something for Will to cheer him up.
Back at the choir room, Puck and Quinn profess their love with him by doing "Just Give Me a Reason" by P!nk and that guy from Fun.:
And seriously, its shit like this that makes people ship things like Faberry or Puckelberry. They keep cutting over to Rachel looking all sad and forlorn, one is bound to think she is secretly in love with one of the two!
Afterward, the kids summon Will to the auditorium to show him the video tribute they made. Basically, its for his new kid, telling him or her about their dad. Among the tidbits, Klaine saying they're going to have a baby with an egg donated by Quinn. Then they do one final rendition of "Don't Stop Believin'":
As performed by everyone. Sure, this is like the 5th time they've done it, but it was nice to see everyone together in one big performance. Holly and April sit in the wings, toasting their success. At what? They failed to save the Glee club! Why have them say, "We did it!" instead of being all, "We couldn't save the club, but at least they're happy!"
In the end, the seniors plus Brittany graduate. Tina informs the boys she won't be joining them in NYC, and they think she's chickening out, but its because she got into Brown. Also, Santana tells Brit Lesbos is not some lesbian paradise, but they should go anyways, then hit Hawaii, before she returns with her to NY. So I guess she broke up with Dani off-screen? What a waste of Demi.
Oh, and then, the last scene in the choir room, where Sue reveals she got Will a job as the new coach of Vocal Adrenaline.
