That Tropicana commercial with Jane Krakowski and Judy Greer confuses me. I mean, those other commercials, I assumed Jane was playing a fictionalized version of herself that for some reason acts like Jenna Maroney. So this latest commercial she and Judy Greer are all, "How could that guy think we were sisters?" because obviously they aren't sisters. But then at the end, they talk as if they are actually sisters. It does not make cents!

TV commentary:

Supernatural- Glad of the new developments going into the mid-season arc. Heh, so it gonna be Crowley vs Abbadon for King/Queen of hell? Crowley proves he's a politician, not a knight like Abbadon. He's not dumb enough to fight Abbadon in a one on one battle for the kingdom. No, he's going to entice other demons away from her.

Not sure who I'd want to win. On the one hand, Crowley's always hilarious. On the other, Abbadon is hott. Though I'm annoyed she killed that Cecily girl! Yeah, the girl was prolly not really trustworthy, but what demon is? She was cute, and useful, being in the NSA and all. Why would you destroy such an asset?

But yeah, Gadreel is back in Helo now, which you knew was eventually going to happen, otherwise why bring in Helo as the original vessel in the first place. Hopefully they re-do Sam's anti-possession tattoo real quick after this.

The Originals- I guess what I like about this show is all the machinations upon machinations, all the changing alliances and betrayals. With Davina on the loose, its a free for all. Davina/Josh/Cami (who's finally free of the compulsion) vs everyone else. Needless to see, being free of compulsion, Cami's kinda pissed, not just at the vamps and witches, but at her uncle, who knew all this and hid it from her. She's ballsy though, threatening to expose Klaus if he ever hurts Davina or Josh. Like what's to stop him from snapping her neck like a twig? I mean, the memories they showed her getting back, she has to realize Klaus is kinda fond of her.

And aw, when Davina goes off half cocked because Klaus has Tim, he's about to tell Davina that killing Klaus would kill him, but then knowing what a threat he is to Davina and what she wants, he keeps mum, so she doesn't have to worry about him. And the show says Josh is gay, and while I'm inclined to think his self-sacrifice is him just being a really good friend, when Davina hugs Tim later he almost looks jealous.

But yeah, with Davina not in Marcel's control, the witches realize they could go practice magic and go after Davina. So they do, which is monumentally stupid given how powerful Davina is, and is seen in the previews, she just snaps their necks like twigs in one felled swoop in under like ten seconds. Well, Sabine isn't too dumb, because unlike her sisters (not actual sister, fellow witches I mean), she actually put a protection spell over herself (I guess a one-time use version of what's on the protecto-rings?) So when Kiernan finds the corpses, he tells Marcel, who gets her to put a protection spell on Davina, because he knows Klaus.

Indeed, Elijah and Marcel knew Klaus would be a little too ruthless with Davina. Its funny, because Davina comes in, and kicks all of their asses in less than a minute (well, the Bekster takes out Marcel, but given how quickly Davina took down Elijah and Klaus, Marcel shouldn't stand a chance) so what, Klaus had the whole poisoning compulsion just in case? So he had a backup plan, but Elijah and Marcel had a counter to his backup plan? That's hilarious.

Its interesting though, I was wondering why Rebekah was willing to trust Davina to Marcel at the end, given she was all about how they can't trust the boys (I liked her whole women power thing this ep), but I guess that was part of the plan- for she is planning her own coup. She has Davina and presumably Josh (whom I'm guessing is allowed to be up and about now after Cami's threat to Klaus), and now she's making overtures to Thierry. Which again is indicative of the crazy changing alliances and deals on this show, because she's playing up the Marcel betrayal, but does he even know her part in the whole thing with Katie? After all, she's the one who interrogated Katie and figured things out, allowing Klaus to come up with that plan.

Heh, Hayley and Elijah continue to flirt like crazy, but Hayles thinks they should cool it, because Klaus is a jealous nut. But they're all busy with the Davina stuff, so instead she's talking with Sophie. Sophie makes a deal with Hayley- if she can tell her where Celeste (Elijah's old gf) is buried, she can absorb that power and she can finally complete the Harvest ritual (doesn't that mean killing Davina?), and in return she'll break the curse on Hayley's family (which was apparently performed by the Deverauxes). So she gives Sophie all she can find. Which isn't too specific, so Sophie does a spell to find the body.

Only after things have settled down, Elijah sees some Davina paintings, which Marcels explains were different from the "witches practicing magic" paintings, that they're about a coming evil. He assembles the paintings together, and its a portrait of Celeste! Oops! Alas, Hayley is not able to warn Sophie before she digs up the grave.
