TV commentary:
The Walking Dead- I'm still sure I'm right! With Tyreese finding the dissected frog in the cells, I'm still thinking it was Lizzie who killed Karen and the other guy, and Carol just covered for her and burned the bodies. I mean, they're definitely making her out to be a little psycho, particularly with wanting to fight in the climactic battle even though she's a little kid. And she actually killed somebody in that, but more on that later!
Anyways, when
7500centfish,
isabel79, and
sparkyboy asked me what I thought was going to happen when I saw them on the holidays, I predicted someone was getting their head chopped off, just like in the comic, and that Hershel would kill himself after Beth and Judith get blown away by the tank. Turns out I was right about some of that.
So, the Governor captures Herschel and Michonne, and then floats a plan to his people to claim the prison for their own safety, and eff the current occupants, because they're evil people who burned down his old camp (liar!) and maimed him and killed his daughter (which actually is true, though he kinda left out the part where his daughter was a walker). Lilly is hesitant to go along with this plan, that they'll find another way, but "Brian" won't have it. He has her and her daughter and all the weak folks stay behind while the able bodied go to claim the prison. Heh, I had a feeling something was going to happen to them if he left a bunch of people behind with no protection.
So, stupid Megan ends up digging up a walker from the riverside and getting her ass bitten, so she dies, and all this stuff the governor was trying to do ends up being for nothing. Not that he knows this happens as he confronts the prison folk. Both Herschel when they talked beforehand, and Rick when the Gov showed up at their front doorstep floated the idea of taking them in, that they could co-exist. But nope, The Gov won't have it, and he Tyreeses Herschel, chopping the poor guy's head off with Michonne's katana.
Obviously, that leads to a firefight. Tara loses her nerve, so Alisha tells her to run and hide and she'll come find her. Honestly, I figured she was going to catch a bullet whilst giving that speech. But nope, she and some random corner Tyrese, and Lizzie kills the random and puts a bullet in Alisha's head. So the prison people get separated and flee in the chaos, and Tyrese is the one stuck with Lizzie and the other kids, which again makes me think she killed Karen, because now he's stuck alone with the girl who possibly killed his love! Not that he knows that yet, but it will be all dramatic if its her and he figures it out on the road with no one to stop him from killing the little girl, or if he bonds with the kids and then finds out later that this little girl he survived with killed his gf!
Glenn is on a bus full of random extras, while Maggie, Sasha, and Bob are on there own, as are Daryl and Beth. (Heh, I did notice a moment between them a couple of eps ago, are they going to hook up on the road, making Carl all jealous?) It seems like the only survivors of the Gov's people are the Chambler sisters. Wonder if that's the last we see of them? I mean, once the Woodbury survivors got into the prison in the comic, that's the last we ever saw of them. They presumably died because they would run out of ammo and were trapped in a building surrounded by a huge-ass swarm.
I did not realize Lilly, Bob, and Martinez were in the comics either. I was also confused because comic Lilly's entry says she killed Lori, who then fell on Judith, killing her. I guess that's from the novels, which I'm unsure how canon that is, even though Kirkman had a hand in writing them. Like in the comics, I swear Lori and Judith got chain-gunned. The entry also says comic/novel Lilly killed the Governor, much like TV did, but I thought it was the survivors as a whole who just mutinied against him after most of the prison was destroyed after the attack and they were now stuck in the middle of a bunch of walkers.
But I digress- as I said, Lilly shows up with Megan's body, which the Governor puts down, and after Michonne mortally wounds the Govenor and leaves him for dead, Lilly finishes him off. So I guess he's finally dead. Actually, I'm not sure what happened to Michonne after that. Was she with one of the other groups, or is she on her own? Carl and Rick are also on their own, distraught over Judith's possible death. I mean, they show the bloody baby carrier, but one of the other survivor groups could have grabbed the baby. Like the last time we saw the baby was with Lizzie and Mika and random other kids. So I'm unsure if they chose to show the bloody carrier to be all, "OMG, the baby died!" and then in a later ep be all, "Naw, someone just took the kid out of the carrier and ran away!" or if a baby corpse would be way too graphic for TV, so Judith is definitely dead, and they could only show a bloody carrier to signify the death.
