TV commentary:
Flashpoint- Heh, I noticed one more thing about Donna. So, I said she got blowed up in both this, and NCIS, but I forgot all the way back when, when she was "Pilot" on Captain Power, they killed her off by blowing her up in that one too. Ha! What a crazy trend!
Breaking Bad- Holy frick. So Hank fails to break Jesse and get anything out of him. At the very least, Jesse indicates if he was gonna give Walter up, it wouldn't be to Hank. But yeah, Walter manages to shut Hank down following a awkward dinner meeting between the two couples, which included such highlights as Marie telling Walter to kill himself then if he's all, "Oh, I'm going to die anyways, why create all this mess when it will all go away when I'm dead." Anyways, the Whites leave a DVD for Hank and Marie, which you think is Walt's confession, because you see him earlier recording the beginning of what seems to be a confession. And it is, that he's been secretly been making crystal meth... for his brother in law Hank, who is a DEA agent turned drug kingpin. He does a pretty good job of tying everything all together and hanging it on his brother in law. Like saying the reason those assassins went after Hank was because he and Gus had a falling out, etc. But the real final nail in the coffin is that Marie got the money to pay for Hank's rehab from Skylar and Walter, so now there is a money trail leading to Hank. So for now, Hank's defeated, because unless he turns up some really damning evidence, the confession shows what Walt can easily turn it into making Hank look like the real boss.
But yeah, its interesting how Walter can be so brilliantly manipulative, and sometimes he's so transparent. Like when Walt Jr was all, "Oh, Aunt Marie asked me to come over to help her with something", Walt drops the C-bomb, and is all, "Oh, don't mind me, I'm too busy dying, you go ahead and help your Aunt!" to make Walt Jr feel sad and not want to leave his dad. But then when he's meeting with Jesse, his whole, "Oh, you should prolly leave town and start a new life, away from all this darkness!" comes off like the manipulation it is. Jesse finally breaks down and tells Walter, don't play him, if Walt asks him to leave, he'll do it. He just wants to be treated like a person, not a pawn.
And Walt gives him a fatherly hug and Jesse agrees to leave. Unfortunately, since Saul was worried that his guy who disappears people wouldn't take Jesse if he suspected he was a junkie, he gets Huell to pick pocket the dope off Jesse before he goes. Which, when Jesse later sees his stash is gone, figures out the whole thing with Brock was a manipulation, and man is he pissed. He beats up Saul, steals a gun, and then goes to burn down the empty White home. I'm guessing he's unsuccessful, because the house in the future doesn't show fire damage. But Walt does recover his hidden gun from the car wash, thinking he might need it.
Dexter- Told you!! Cassie's boyfriend was indeed the Brain Surgeon. And they bring up the thing I said, where Cassie was talking like she wasn't that into him, but then the guy was talking like they were basically about to get married even after only a couple of weeks. So, Quinn tells Deb about Zack, whom Dex informs that Zack's not the killer. Deb manages to convince Quinn since Zack had an alibi. So Quinn is dumbfounded that he is wrong, but accepting. So, they're back on the boyfriend- and after getting some tidbits from Jamie, Deb manages to find out the bf is a effin liar.
So, she's telling this to Dex, but Dex already figured it out on his own. And that he is also Vogel's son whom she thought was dead. Dex wants to take care of it his own way, which prompts Deb to rethink her decision to rejoin the force (and apparently it would be no fuss, Batista even gives her her badge back even though she hasn't agreed to come back yet, saying she'd be back down to detective, but she's just good to show up whenever) because she doesn't think she can be a cop with her brother still around.
But that problem might be solved soon enough. He wants to run away with Hannah- even Harrison says he wishes Hannah was his mom, which I still find his love of Hannah weird because it just didn't seem like they got to be together that long for him to bond so much to her. Heh, he almost reveals things to the Marshall Deb's boss brought in over Hannah, when he draws a pic of him and Dexter with a blond lady. When Kozic asks who the lady is, Harrison is all, his mom. Luckily Rita was also blond.
I don't think Dexter should let his guard down around this guy. I mean, Kozic is all, "Oh, Hannah's prolly gone from Miami, we'll take that protective detail off your house!" which has to be him wanting to catch Dexter slip up and go to Hannah once he's out from under the watchful eyes of the cops. Heh, they are just managing to keep barely ahead of the Marshall. He takes Hannah to meet that friend of hers (I forget, I think one of Hannah's first kills was some guy who had molested her friend or the both of them or something?) who she was getting to hold money, but then the Marshall shows up. So Hannah hides, and Dex just stands there out in the open acting like Arlene and him are friends, having met through Hannah and he had gone there after the Marshall had visited Dexter to warn her about Hannah. And when the Marshall asks how Arlene is living better, Dex pretends that they actually started going out and he's been paying for her.
Which, again, why do they act like Dexter is so rich? I mean, isn't he just a crime scene tech. Like if the Marshall should be wondering, "Okay, he's a sugar daddy to some ex junkie, helping better her life", and he manages to afford to hire a hot nanny like full time.
But I digress, anyways, once Dexter reveals to Vogel her son is still alive and is the Brain Surgeon, thinks quickly fall apart between him and his "spiritual mother". Dexter wants to kill him, Vogel doesn't want her own son killed, especially after she has him back now, she wants to put him in an institution again (because that worked out great the first time around!) He drugs her so he can ambush the son, but turns out the guy is pretty smart and escapes. And now he knows Dex is after him.
It was interesting though, Vogel was all, "This is a family matter!" and Dex replies he thought they were family. Guess the surrogate son is pushed to the wayside now that Mommy has the real thing back. It will definitely be interesting to see how it all ends.
